A food truck owner in California was hospitalized after he confronted a thief who allegedly assaulted and robbed an elderly woman, according to FOX 11 LA.
Bryan Tecun, the owner of Bryan’s Birrieria food truck in Long Beach, California, was driving home when he witnessed a woman being robbed and assaulted, the outlet reported.

Acting on instinct, the good Samaritan jumped out of his car and ran to help the elderly woman.

Authorities said he chased the suspect to a nearby park and tackled him down. Tecun was stabbed once in his rib cage and once between his neck and shoulder during the confrontation, police told FOX 11.
Tecun said that he first dismissed the need for any medical attention, but he began feeling dizzy.

“Police arrived, and they asked me to stay for medical aid, but I didn’t think it was anything too severe,” he told FOX 11. “I started sweating a lot, started feeling dizzy as I was driving.”

Despite sustaining major injuries and ending up in the hospital with a collapsed lung and internal bleeding, Tecum is expected to make a full recovery.
“I wouldn’t ever like for something like that to happen to one of my relatives or to my mom. I would hope somebody would step in,” he said.
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii County’s prosecuting attorney said a Hilo woman has been charged with prohibited possession of a rifle and ammo as well as felony drug offenses.
Police said Jackie Carter, 30, was arrested and charged following a vehicle traffic stop off Kilauea Avenue.
According to police reports, after executing a search warrant of the vehicle Carter was driving, officers recovered a Remington bolt action rifle and live .243 ammunition.
Officials said Carter was charged with the following offenses:

Ownership or possession of a firearm prohibited
Ownership or possession of ammunition prohibited
Promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree (possess any amount of methamphetamine)
Promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree (possess any amount of oxycodone hydrochloride)
Promoting a harmful drug in the fourth degree (possess any amount of alprazolam)
Driving without a license
Not having no-fault insurance
The prosecutor’s office said Carter faces a penalty of a five-year prison term or four years probation and up twelve months in jail.
Officials said she remains in custody in lieu of $84,000 bail.

Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte declared disasters in Missoula and Mineral counties Friday.
Thousands are still without power after an extreme thunderstorm swept the area Wednesday night.
The governor’s declaration could make state money available to aid in restoration efforts if the counties need it. Wind that whipped up to 80 miles an hour downed trees and power lines across the counties. The full extent of the damage is not yet known.
Gianforte’s declaration noted the counties are reporting emergency costs to repair critical infrastructure. That includes water treatment, city buildings and traffic control systems.

Missoula declared its own state of emergency Thursday morning.
