Charges Filed After 2 Accused Of Attempting To Smuggle Narcotics Through Mail At Oklahoma Co. Jail
Charges have been filed against a former detainee and another individual, who lives out of state, accused of attempting to smuggle narcotics through mail at the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
The jail said former detainee Jordan Keith and the other individual, Terrance Burmood, are both facing two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime and two counts of possession of controlled drugs in jail/penal institution. Keith is serving a sentence with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, and Burmood will be extradited to Oklahoma once he is taken into custody.
In October 2022, jail mail room personnel made investigators aware about two suspicious packages, which were addressed to a detainee with a postmark from Colorado, according to the jail.
The jail said the packages initially looked like they were from a law firm in Oklahoma City before they noticed the out-of-state postmark.
Investigators found several pills hidden inside of them, which the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation tested and revealed they tested positive for fentanyl, the jail said.
Later in the month, the detainee received an envelope with the same postmarking as the previous packages. A card and five pictures were found to be inside, according to the jail.
The OSBI tested the contents of the envelope, and they tested positive for methamphetamine.
Interim CEO of the Oklahoma County Detention Center Brandi Garner sent the following statement in a press release about the incidents:
“It is imperative that we hold people accountable for the harm they can bring upon detainees and staff by smuggling in drugs and contraband. Fighting contraband is an ongoing battle. We will continue be vigilant in our efforts to keep drugs out of the jail and will not hesitate to prosecute anyone who is caught smuggling contraband in the jail.”

Oklahoma State books ticket to 5th straight WCWS after sweeping Arizona
Kenny Gajewski and the Cowgirls are headed back to the Women’s College World Series for the fifth straight season. It was a similar story on Saturday as Oklahoma State cruised to a 10-4 win over Arizona to clinch the Stillwater Super Regional.
Oklahoma State continued its home run-hitting ways. Jilyen Poullard let Tallen Edwards have the spotlight at the top of the order this time. The third baseman hit a two-run homer in the first. Rosie Davis and Claire Timm went back-to-back in the third inning. Poullard, Caroline Wang and Lexi McDonald also drove in runs.
Oops, she did it again.
With Claire’s 1⃣0⃣th home run of the season, that now makes FIVE different Cowgirls with double-digit home run totals on the season… for the first time in program history 🤯

The Arizona lineup found more success against Ivy Rosenberry. The dynamic duo at the top of the order Dakota Kennedy and Regan Shockey combined for a double and single to get one back in the first. Emily Schepp hit a two-run home run that knocked Rosenbery out.
Gajewski turned back to Lexi Kilfoyl with a decent lead to ensure the Cowgirls closed things out on Saturday. Kilfoyl rolled even through a multi-hour weather delay. She tossed four innings, allowing four hits and one earned run to secure another trip to Oklahoma City.
