The NFL season may be months away, but fantasy football preparations are year-round.
Under head coach Shane Steichen, the Indianapolis Colts have a handful of intriguing talents to be considered in fantasy football.
In his early edition of the top-100 rankings for the 2024 season, Field Yates of ESPN holds the Colts’ Big 3 in high regard, placing all three within the top-40.

Here’s where the Colts’ big trio sits in Yates’ early rankings:

RB Jonathan Taylor: No. 13 overall, RB5
WR Michael Pittman Jr.: No. 24 overall, WR12
QB Anthony Richardson: No. 39 overall, QB5
Those are some pretty impressive rankings going into the 2024 season. The upside of this trio is extremely high, especially if Richardson winds up putting together a better season than expected.
Taylor should be a stout RB1 option in all formats even there will be questions about his receiving profile due to Richardson’s mobility. Still, the efficiency should counter a smaller target share enough to make him an elite asset as long as he stays healthy.
Pittman is coming off a career-high season in receptions (109) and receiving yards (1,152). He will be Richardson’s top target in a heavy RPO system.
Richardson himself has some of the highest upside in fantasy football if he can stay healthy. The risk is worth the reward considering his dual-threat ability.

How and when to watch the Indy 500
The 2024 Indy 500 will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024. The Indianapolis 500 green flag drops at 12:45 p.m. ET (9:45 a.m. PT). The race will air on NBC and stream on Peacock and the platforms featured below.
How to watch the 2024 Indy 500 without cable
While most cable packages include NBC, it’s easy to watch the Indy 500 if NBC isn’t included in your cable TV subscription, or if you don’t have cable at all. Your best options for watching are below. (Streaming options will require an internet provider.)

How long with the 2024 Indy 500 last?
Drivers will complete the 200 laps of the 500-mile race of the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in around three hours.
Can the Indy 500 be delayed for rain?
As of this post’s writing, there is an 80% chance of rain on race day, with thunderstorms predicted throughout the day.
So can the race be postponed? In a word, yes. The Indy 500 has had three complete postponements in its history, the last time being in 2007. Drivers must complete at least 101 laps for the race to be considered official, with the remainder of the race re-scheduled for the following (dry) day. The race has also been shortened eight times according the the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which hosts the Indy 500. The shortest official race was 102 laps in 1976.

This year the weather in Indy is forecast for rain through Wednesday, May 29, 2024, which could mean drivers have to wait a few more days to compete.

The Indianapolis Colts are beginning to work through the 2024 off-season with new hope and excitement that hasn’t been seen in quite a while from fans, players, and the staff. Head coach Shane Steichen and quarterback Anthony Richardson head a young and talented offensive side of the ball for Indianapolis. Last season, the league and fans barely got to witness what the two are capable of as a coach-QB combination due to Richardson’s season-ending shoulder injury. However, now that Richardson is throwing again, the two are readying up to hit opponents with fire in 2024.
One of the more unknown position groups on the Colt’s offense is the running backs behind superstar Jonathan Taylor. Second-year pro, Evan Hull, is a receiving specialist who can be an underrated blocker but missed nearly all of 2023 with a torn meniscus. With Hull is Trey Sermon, who has been underwhelming overall in his career but showed small glimpses of promise last year whenever Taylor was out with injury. Aside from these two is Tyler Goodson, who is similar to Sermon.
However, could more depth in this position room make sense? Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report thinks a low-risk trade should go down in a piece detailing NFL players who need a fresh start. For Indianapolis, it’s nothing more than giving up a 2025 sixth-rounder for a player that Steichen helped elevate to new heights.
Indianapolis would be the optimal landing spot for a Sanders resurgence. His best season came with the Eagles when Shane Steichen served as offensive coordinator. He had 1,347 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2022 before Steichen left to take the Indianapolis Colts head coach.

To give up a 2025 sixth-rounder for a back like Miles Sanders isn’t much, especially considering he could fit right in as the replacement for now Cincinnati Bengals running back Zack Moss. When Steichen was the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022, Sanders had the best season of his NFL career. Sanders carried the ball 259 times for an outstanding 1,269 rushing yards (4.9 yards per carry) and 11 rushing touchdowns. This performance also led to his lone Pro Bowl nomination.
Without a solid offensive line and elite play-caller, Sanders fell as flat as can be for the Carolina Panthers in 2023. He put together just 129 carries for 432 rushing yards (3.3 yards per carry) and one score. Indianapolis is a perfect spot for Sanders given the coach, offensive layout, and price tag. If the former Pro Bowler only costs a sixth-round selection, Indianapolis should make this deal happen with the Panthers. The deal would replace Moss right away and with talent that possesses a higher ceiling.
