SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – A passenger who allegedly assaulted a United Airways worker aboard a flight on Sunday was arrested and banned from all future United flights, Nexstar’s KRON has confirmed.

Airline representatives contacted the San Francisco Police Division Airport Bureau simply earlier than midnight on Sunday, April 30, after the suspect allegedly assaulted an worker whereas boarding.

“Our staff at San Francisco Worldwide Airport instantly contacted regulation enforcement after a disruptive buyer assaulted considered one of our service staff throughout boarding,” a United spokesperson advised KRON.

SFPD officers responded to the incident at Terminal 3, which solely serves United.

An outline of the suspect was supplied to officers, and he was detained within the terminal. The suspect, 47-year-old Cody Benjamin Lovins of Montgomery, Texas, was arrested and cited for battery and launched.

He was additionally banned from all subsequent flights on the airline.

“This buyer’s conduct was unacceptable, and he has been banned from future United flights and we’re working with native regulation enforcement of their investigation,” United advised KRON. “We’re grateful to our staff for his or her professionalism and for searching for the protection of our prospects and their fellow United staff.”
