Mariah Carey’s Atlanta mansion sells at a loss for $4.3M
This sweet, sweet fantasy house has sold — albeit for significantly under its asking price, and for some $1.35 million less than what its A-list owner bought it for in 2021.
Pop music icon Mariah Carey, 54, has offloaded her peach of a Georgia property on the last day of May, almost 10 months after listing it, the Wall Street Journal first reported.
After weathering much of the pandemic at the nine-bedroom, nine-bathroom behemoth, the “All I Want For Christmas” songbird put it on the market this past September, initially for an asking price of $6.5 million.
At the time of the sale, that number had dropped by a bit over $1.5 million, to $4.99 million.
In the end, the stately manse closed for $4.3 million, $600,000 less than the final listed ask.
Carey bought it for $5.65 million.
The house sold to Michael Dickey, CEO of Modern Luxury Media, who plans to make the gated, 4-acre estate his family’s primary residence.
“The home sold to a local family that knows how special this property is and is looking forward to enjoying all of its amenities for years to come,” said Shanna Bradley of Ansley Real Estate, the Atlanta-area affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, who represented the seller. “Both Ms. Carey and the buyer are very pleased with the outcome of this sale.”
In all, the abode measures in at over 12,500 square feet and includes a heated pool, a pool house, an entertainment pavilion, a three-car garage, tennis courts and a “charming series of gardens,” as The Post previously reported.
The main house’s interior includes a workout room with a mirror wall, a home theater, a guest suite, a fireplace-equipped living room and, on the third floor, a small recording booth.
The primary suite also boasts a fireplace, as well as a walk-in closet, an ensuite bath and a dressing room.

Man shot during apartment break-in on Cheshire Bridge Road
ATLANTA – A man was shot during an apparent burglary overnight at an apartment on Northeast Atlanta’s Cheshire Bridge Road, officials say.
Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department told FOX 5 the victim was shot in the arm late Monday night at the CB Lofts, located near the Interstate 85 interchange.
Officers on the scene didn’t say much about the investigation, but FOX 5’s Marc Teichner did talk with a neighbor named Josymar. He said that he and his cousin were listening to music when they heard a loud bang followed by the complex’s fire alarm.
Josymar opened his door to see what was going on and said he saw two young men dressed in black hoodies running down the hall, carrying a couple of large bags. When they noticed him, Josymar says one of the men pointed a gun at him. Josymar then slammed and locked his door.
After waiting a couple of minutes, Josymar and his cousin went out in the hallway. They saw his neighbor’s door had been kicked in. When they entered that apartment, they found the neighbor bleeding from his arm. Josymar then called 911.
The neighbor told Josymar he didn’t know the gunmen and that they kicked in his door, robbed and then shot him.
Detectives have not released any details about the man’s condition or given out any kind of suspect description. Josymar says police were trying to get their hands on residents’ doorbell camera video, hoping to ID the shooters.
If you have any information about the robbery, call the Atlanta Police Department.

Austin Riley & Sean Murphy in Lineup for Series Opener versus Nationals
The Atlanta Braves are looking for some better vibes right now.
They won yesterday’s matchup with the Pittsburgh Pirates to avoid a sweep, fueled by another dominant start from Chris Sale in a month of May that’s been full of them, but the win was overshadowed by the season-ending ACL injury suffered by star Ronald Acuña Jr.
Atlanta kicks off the first post-Acuña series of the season with the divisional-rival Washington Nationals in town for the first matchup between the two teams of the 2024 season. The Braves are sending veteran Charlie Morton (3-1, 3.35) to the mound against breakout lefty Mitchell Parker (3-2, 3.32).
Here’s how Atlanta will line up for the contest:
2B Ozzie Albies
3B Austin Riley
DH Marcell Ozuna
1B Matt Olson
C Sean Murphy
RF Adam Duvall
CF Michael Harris II
SS Orlando Arcia
LF Jarred Kelenic
We don’t normally point out minor lineup changes for the Braves, as they’re known for keeping virtually the same lineup almost every day, but there’s enough here where it’s worth mentioning. Both third baseman Austin Riley (intercostal) and Sean Murphy (oblique) return to the lineup, Riley after missing thirteen games and Murphy after missing forty-nine. Second baseman Ozzie Albies moves up to the leadoff spot in the absence of Acuña – it’s likely that Michael Harris II could be the everyday leadoff man, but Ozzie draws the job with a lefty on the mound for Washington.
Morton’s been his usually steady self this season, albeit with some isolated rougher outings than we’re used to seeing from the veteran. He’s not very familiar with this Nationals squad, though – his only start against them last season came at the very end of the year, one in which he left the game after just one inning with the sprained finger that ended up knocking him out of the rotation for Atlanta’s NLDS loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Here’s the Nationals lineup:
SS CJ Abrams
RF Lane Thomas
2B Luis García Jr.
LF Eddie Rosario
C Keibert Ruiz
DH Jesse Winker
3B Nick Senzel
1B Joey Gallo
CF Jacob Young
The Braves have never faced the lefty Parker, but they’re not as uncomfortable as many teams are when facing a lefty starter. The Braves are 11-5 against lefty starters this season, including 10-2 in their last twelve games. Atlanta’s batting .264 with twenty-four homers in sixteen games started by opposing lefties.
This afternoon’s series opener is scheduled for a 4:10 PM ET first pitch. It’s being broadcast on Bally Sports Southeast and MASN2, with those out-of-market having the game on MLB.tv.
If you’d rather just listen, the Nationals radio broadcast is available on 106.7 The Fan and DC 87.7 while the Atlanta Braves Radio Network has the standard broadcast on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan and affiliates across Braves Country. Both teams have Spanish language broadcasts today, with Atlanta’s on La Mejor 1600/1460/1130 AM and Washington’s on La Pantera 100.7 FM/1220 AM.
