North Dakota farmer out of prison in Ukraine, but status unclear

North Dakota farmer Kurt Groszhans is not jailed in war-torn Ukraine, however his standing is unclear.

West Fargo Sheyenne’s Tate Herrmann narrowly wins with 51% of the vote and is crowned the winner of this week’s Chris Heise High School Play of the Week. Herrmann tracks a fly ball in right field and lays out to record the catch.

2 die in head-on crash near Glenwood

GLENWOOD — Both drivers died in a head-on crash near Glenwood on Saturday, May 25.

Isaac Carlson, 33, of Glenwood was driving a 2021 Ram 1500 pickup west on Highway 28 and Nicholas Bergman, 39, of Oakdale was driving a 2013 Ford Fusion eastbound when the vehicles collided head-on. The crash happened near Pope County Road 57 in Leven Township at about 7:40 p.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Carlson and Bergman died at the scene. They were both wearing seat belts and the airbags deployed on both vehicles. Road conditions were dry, according to the crash report.

Responding agencies included the Villard Fire Department and First Responders, Pope County Sheriff’s Office, Starbuck Police Department and Glenwood Police Department.

North Dakota Insurance Commissioner on auto insurance: “we're still very, very affordable”

(Fargo, ND) — If you are looking to save on auto insurance in North Dakota, the state insurance commissioner has info you need to consider.

“Through this survey we were able to kind of analyze how we compared to other states and averages across other states, and we’re still very, very afforadable, which is good news,” said Jon Godfread.

Godfread and his staff have just completed their annual auto insurance cost comparison survey.

More than 20 insurance companies participated.

They represent more than 80 percent of policies sold in the state.

Companies that rate well for drivers in Fargo include Progressive, Nodak, and Country Financial.
