Chiefs plan to stick with rookie WR Skyy Moore at punt returner moving forward

Issues didn’t go significantly properly for Kansas Metropolis Chiefs rookie WR Skyy Moore in Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season.

Moore muffed a punt, which led to the primary factors of the sport for the Indianapolis Colts. Issues actually started to snowball from that time ahead, particularly on particular groups. He’d fail to area the second punt of the sport, leaving the ball to be downed on the one-yard line.

It’s essential to do not forget that Moore continues to be adjusting to what’s thought-about to be a brand new function. He didn’t play punt returner with any consistency in school or in highschool, so he’s very a lot studying as he goes. Regardless of his struggles in Week 3, Kansas Metropolis intends to stay with Moore at punt returner transferring ahead.

We’re sticking with Skyy. We like Skyy. Should you observed, you already know he completed with a 12-yard return.”

Toub feels that the final punt return was indicative of progress and an indication of what’s to come back for Moore. It’s only a matter of getting him extra stay repetitions, as he has only a few in his soccer profession thus far.

“He needs to do it. He’s not hiding from it,” Toub continued. “I imply he needs to be ‘the man.’ So, he made a mistake. Errors occur with younger gamers. (Head) Coach (Andy Reid) sticks with guys. I follow guys. In the event that they make errors – we’re coaches, we’ve bought to get them higher. That’s our job, and I actually consider that he’s going to be a extremely good punt returner.”

Proper now, Toub is dedicated to teaching Moore and getting him to some extent the place returning punts is second nature. Whether or not he continues to return punts or not, there stays some anxiousness within the Chiefs Kingdom to see the second-round decide get extra concerned on the offensive aspect of the ball too.
