LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ/Grey Information) – Six folks have died in a fiery helicopter crash Wednesday night, stated Ray Bryant, the chief of operations for the Logan Emergency Ambulance Authority,

The identities of the victims haven’t been confirmed, however Bryant stated the passengers weren’t native, WSAZ reported.

He stated the helicopter, a Bell UH-1B, was a Vietnam-era Huey based mostly out of the Logan airport and was used for tourism flights.

Bryant stated right now it’s not confirmed precisely what went unsuitable throughout the flight. The helicopter crashed onto state Route 17 alongside Blair Mountain. Bryant stated it was on fireplace when crews arrived on the scene, and firefighters put the fireplace out.

The highway is anticipated to stay closed for no less than 24 hours.

Bryant stated one of many homeowners of the helicopter confirmed up on the scene after the crash.

Bobbi Childs, who lives a few mile from the place the crash occurred, stated she referred to as 911 and rushed to the scene. She stated she ran again crying, traumatized by what she had seen.
