This is a have a look at three observations from Atlanta …

Welcome Again, Kyle Pitts!

Kyle Pitts performed one among his greatest video games of the season for the Falcons immediately, catching 5 passes for 80 yards and a landing.

Pitts has had an extremely quiet season, however the No. 4 total choose from final 12 months’s draft was a bit of bit louder immediately.

If Pitts can proceed to see targets and be used extra like he was immediately, the Falcons will probably be higher off in the long term. Hopefully immediately’s efficiency forces Arthur Smith and the offense to make the most of him a bit of extra.

No Grilling For Foreman

The line of defense did not present a ton of strain for the Panthers backfield. With Christian McCaffrey traded and Chuba Hubbard injured, all eyes have been on D’Onta Foreman, and he delivered for the Panthers.

Foreman led the offense with 23 carries, 112 yards and three touchdowns. Throughout the broadcast, Foreman obtained Derrick Henry comparisons, and whereas he hasn’t had the chance to point out the identical consistency the Tennessee Titans again gives, he actually confirmed the facility.

He was tough to deal with and gave the Falcons’ entrance seven matches all afternoon. Given the truth that the secondary is depleted, the line of defense and linebackers wanted to step up.

Regardless that the Falcons gained, the sport may’ve been a blowout if the protection discovered a strategy to comprise Foreman.

Offense Comes In Clutch, Protection Would not

Even after the Panthers scored a go-ahead landing with simply over three minutes to go, the Falcons did not panic. Marcus Mariota threw three passes on the game-winning drive, one every to Tyler Allgeier (16 yards), Drake London (17 yards) and Damiere Byrd (48-yard landing). Nonetheless, the protection did their half and restricted Carolina on its ultimate huge offensive possession. Rashaan Evans’ sack of P.J. Walker on third down pressured 4th & lengthy and all however sealed the sport for the Falcons.

However the protection couldn’t end the job after permitting a 62-yard landing go to DJ Moore with 12 seconds left within the recreation. An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty pushed the extra-point strive again and led to a miss to tie the sport.

In extra time, although Mariota threw an interception on the opening drive, the Falcons obtained some luck from the soccer gods when Eddy Piñeiro missed one other kick that may have gained the sport.

Mariota and the offense knew they might not screw up a second probability, and the unit sealed the sport with an 8-play, 60-yard drive that led to a Younghoe Koo game-winning subject purpose.

With the win, the Falcons are again to .500 and sit atop the NFC South standings. MARTA Airport Station back open after weeks of renovations

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The MARTA Airport Station at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is back open after weeks of renovations.

It’s the first major renovation at MARTA’s Airport Station. Atlanta News First got an exclusive look at the progress last week as crews put the finishing touches on the project ahead of Monday’s opening.

Upgrades include everything from new paint, new floors, and new railing to changes to the tactile strips, which help passengers watch their step as they get on and off the train.

Since April 8, a shuttle service has connected travelers from College Park Station to and from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as crews worked on the renovations.

MARTA says the six-week closure of the Airport Station saved 17 months of construction time.

“It would’ve been a much longer process where we would only do a small portion of work every night and then shore up that work every night to then be open back up in the morning so that 17 months was saved by doing just six weeks of work,” said MARTA Senior Project Manager Jermaine White.

MARTA’s Airport Station reopened early Monday morning. Airport officials say there is another phase of renovations underway, and work will continue.

PFF’s Surprise Pick for Atlanta Falcons Most Underrated Player

The Atlanta Falcons are hoping they found value for their defensive line on Day 2 and 3 of the 2024 NFL draft. In 2021, the Falcons did just that with center Drew Dalman.

Dalman was acquired in a draft-day trade with the Denver Broncos. The Broncos traded up to No. 35 and selected running back Javonte Williams. The Falcons used the 40th overall pick from the Broncos on safety Richie Grant and the fourth-round pick on Dalman.

Three years after Atlanta drafted Dalman at No. 114 overall, Pro Football Focus’ Zoltan Buday named the Falcons center the most underrated player on the team.

“With all other Atlanta offensive linemen being top-40 picks in their drafts — including three first-rounders — the former fourth-round pick Dalman could have stood out in a negative way, but that was not the case,” Buday wrote. “The Stanford product built on a promising 2022 campaign and ended up as the third-highest-graded center in the NFL in 2023 (82.3).”

Besides Dalman, the only starting offensive lineman the Falcons didn’t draft in the first round was left guard Matthew Bergeron. Atlanta grabbed him at No. 38 overall in the second round last offseason.

But according to the Pro Football Focus player grades, right guard Chris Lindstrom was the only Falcons offensive lineman better than Dalman last season. The Atlanta center earned a 82.3 PFF player grade. He particularly excelled at run blocking, posting a 90 grade.

Among centers who played 50% of his team’s snaps in 2023, Dalman was second best behind only Detroit Lions veteran Frank Ragnow. Dalman was also second best in run blocking to Ragnow.

While Dalman posted his best PFF player grades last season, he’s earned a “good” grade or better in all three of his NFL campaigns. In 2021, he had a 78.3 player grade as a rookie.

Behind that strong play, Dalman has helped the Falcons solidify their offensive line, which is a unit the team hopes will get more run blocking opportunities in 2024.

Super hyped rookie Bijan Robinson only recorded about 23% of his carries with the team possessing a lead last season. The Falcons should hope to get Robinson the ball a lot more with a lead in 2024, especially if Dalman blocks again as he did last fall.
