One person injured from fire in Bristol home

One person was injured after a fire broke out at a home in Bristol on Tuesday morning, firefighters said.

Firefighters were called to 308 Woodland St. at 9:11 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a basement fire. They arrived two minutes later and brought it under control within eight minutes, according to the Bristol Fire Department.

Everyone in the house was able to get out, but one person suffered burns and non-life-threatening injuries. The person was sent to Bristol Hospital for treatment, firefighters said.

Firefighters did not share how many people were in the house.

The fire was contained to the basement and did not spread to the first floor, which is the only other level in the house, according to Bristol Fire Chief Richard Hart.

Almost all of the fire was put out by 9:40 a.m., Hart said.

The fire marshal is still determining the cause of the fire, and the investigation is ongoing, according to Hart.
