Trump has not been instantly concerned within the race, didn’t endorse anybody, and the Republican-backed candidate has tried to distance his connections with the previous president and the GOP. Moreover, Trump’s help amongst Republicans seems to be waning within the battleground state that he barely received in 2016 after which misplaced by an analogous margin in 2020.

“Whereas this (indictment) might get the juice flowing with a few of his supporters, some might have a head shake and shoulder shrug,” mentioned longtime Republican strategist and former state GOP occasion chief Brandon Scholz. “This indictment factor is not actually tied into this race. “The traditional October surprises are issues that contain the candidates themselves, not another person,” Franklin mentioned. “For that motive, I feel there’s in all probability much less motive to suppose this information dramatically modifications the Supreme Courtroom race as a result of folks must know sufficient to attach Donald Trump to the Supreme Courtroom race and haven’t been planning to vote, or vote in a different way, in Tuesday’s election.”

Protasiewicz’s marketing campaign spokesperson, Sam Roecker, mentioned Friday, “We do not count on voters to be distracted by what’s taking place in New York.”

“We’re targeted on successful a important election in 4 days that may have long-term penalties for tens of millions of Wisconsinites relating to points like reproductive rights and the energy of our democracy,” he mentioned. “We all know voters are targeted on this race as a result of it is a chance to return equity and impartiality to the Wisconsin Supreme Courtroom.”

In that sense, these late-breaking issues do not shift help tremendously, notably once they do not contain the candidates.”

The winner Tuesday will decide majority management of the court docket, which is anticipated to rule on the destiny of Wisconsin’s near-total abortion ban, Republican gerrymandered legislative districts and voting rights heading into the 2024 presidential election. Menomonie, Wis. — A murky day for turkey day. In this part of western Wisconsin, “murky” is an understatement.

A narrow band of snow quickly dropped three inches on drivers — even sending a semi sliding into a ditch.

The National Weather Service says it’s likely because of a glass manufacturing company near Menomonie.

“That steam rises into the deck of clouds that are above it, and the steam acts as little particles that the water droplets can latch onto and create snow crystals” said Meteorologist Caleb Grunzke of the National Weather Service. “Everything came together perfectly for several inches of snow and major traffic problems.”

The Wisconsin State Patrol reported 16 crashes in a 5 hour span, including a six-car pile-up.

“We kind of drove in and out of the snow very dramatically” said Dave Erickson, who was making the trip back to the Twin Cities from Milwaukee.

“Drive safe, happy Thanksgiving” Erickson added.
