OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Native and state officers took time to notice Martin Luther King Jr. Day, some paying tribute by recognition of these locally; others taking a second to notice the phrases of King himself.

Right here in Omaha on Friday, officers paid tribute to these serving our group in inspirational methods. On Friday, Omaha Firefighter Jason Gentry was honored with the “Aspire to Encourage” award; Division of Corrections Cpl. Walter Adams was introduced the Dr. King award; and Alex J. Marion, a former resident of Legacy Crossing Residences, was awarded the “Residing the Dream” group award.

Mayor Jean Stothert commemorated the occasion on her Fb web page final week.

Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen signed a proclamation in honor of the day, stating, partially:
