UPDATED: Kenosha woman found dead in Downtown hotel, suspect identified as Milwaukee man


Kenosha Police are investigating the dying of a Kenosha girl discovered lifeless in a Downtown lodge room on Wednesday.

At 12:20 p.m., Kenosha Police responded to the Wyndham Backyard Resort, 5125 Sixth Ave., for a suspicious dying reported by lodge workers. Kenosha Fireplace/Rescue arrived and confirmed the sufferer was deceased.

The sufferer was recognized as 30-year-old Montreach Mitchell. She was reportedly discovered alone within the room.

Police investigators on scene rapidly recognized an individual of curiosity, and the suspect was taken into custody. The dying is being investigated as a murder.

Kenosha Police confirmed late Thursday to the Kenosha Information the suspect is 29-year-old Timmy L. Brooks of Milwaukee. He’s being held in Kenosha on felonies of first-degree intentional murder, bail leaping and illegal possession of a firearm. 

Sgt. Jeff Galley mentioned shell casings had been discovered within the room from the remoted incident. Investigators are ready for an post-mortem to be accomplished to find out the reason for dying, Galley added.

Milwaukee Christmas Day stabbing; man arrested

A 25-year-old was stabbed in Milwaukee on Wednesday, Dec. 25.

The Milwaukee Police Department said it happened at approximately 1:15 p.m. near 36th and Sarnow. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.

The suspect, a 30-year-old man, stabbed the victim during a fight. Police said the incident was domestic violence related.
