5 takeaways from Commanders’ loss to the 49ers
Final week, Turner’s title was talked about for all of the flawed causes. If Turner had preserving feeding operating again Brian Robinson Jr., Washington beats the New York Giants. In some way, Robinson obtained simply 12 carries whereas averaging over seven yards per try. Turner admitted after the sport, Robinson ought to have gotten the soccer extra.
How did Turner reply? By force-feeding Robinson 18 makes an attempt within the first half. In whole, Robinson carried the ball 22 instances for 58 yards. You is probably not impressed with these numbers, however these have been spectacular yards. Robinson earned each yard. Ran arduous, ran by way of and across the Niners to earn these yards. In a curious sequence within the first half, Ron Rivera went for it on fourth-and-goal from the one-yard line. After operating Robinson 3 times, he pulls him on the fourth-down run and brings in Antonio Gibson. Whereas Gibson is a proficient again, he’s not an efficient short-yardage runner. Predictably, he was brief and Washington turned the ball over on downs.
Throughout this time, Heinicke was having success throwing the ball, even on third-and-long. But Turner stored operating the soccer. It’s virtually as if Turner has no really feel for the sport. If he deviates from his plan, he’s misplaced. Take a look at Kyle Shanahan; he adjusts. Did you discover that San Francisco offense within the second half? Turner by no means adjusts like that. It’s like he’s at all times too late to regulate to the protection. Turner deserves extra blame than Heinicke for Washington’s offensive points Saturday.

Cannon ruled Tuesday, increasing the chance that Trump’s New York criminal trial may be the only one to happen before the November election.
The judge had originally set the trial date for late May and heard arguments on March 1 about when the trial should be — with Trump’s lawyers pushing to start after the presidential election, in which he is the presumptive Republican nominee, or no earlier than August.
