San Francisco 49ers Face A Tall Task Without Deebo Samuel Against The Rams

The San Francisco 49ers discover themselves within the midst of a two-game shedding streak heading into Sunday’s highway date with the defending champion Los Angeles Rams.

Simply when it appeared that San Francisco would have probably the most firepower we’ve seen on offense this season, star extensive receiver Deebo Samuel popped up on the damage report with a hamstring subject.

Samuel had not practiced all week main as much as head coach Kyle Shanahan’s Q&A with reporters on Friday afternoon, roughly 48 hours earlier than San Francisco takes on its division rival.

In stated press convention, Shanahan confirmed what gave the impression to be apparent. Samuel will be inactive for the all-important Week 8 matchup.

He’ll be part of fellow Professional Bowler, fullback Kyle Juszczyk, as vital members of the 49ers’ offense to overlook Sunday’s outing. All of this comes amid All-Professional operating again Christian McCaffrey making ready for his second recreation as a member of the 49ers after being acquired from the Carolina Panthers in a blockbuster commerce final week.

Deebo Samuel’s Absence And What It Means For The San Francisco 49ers

Samuel, 26, has not been as electrical to this point this season as we noticed in 2021. By means of seven video games, he’s caught 32 passes for 387 yards whereas placing up 138 speeding yards and three whole touchdowns. This nonetheless has the All-Professional on tempo for 1,275 whole yards.

It’s not going to be simple duplicating such a manufacturing. Samuel’s skill to make performs all around the area was one of many causes San Francisco overcame early struggles to earn a visit to the NFC Championship Recreation final season. With out him within the combine, there’s onus on others to step up.

Exterior of McCaffrey (extra on him beneath), third-year receiver Brandon Aiyuk must proceed making an influence. The previous first-round decide from Arizona State has caught 15-of-22 targets for 165 yards and two touchdowns over the previous two video games. He’ll take over the position as Jimmy Garoppolo’s prime goal on the extensive receiver place.

After being tasked with blocking a tad an excessive amount of for my liking earlier within the season, star tight finish George Kittle has picked it up from a receiving perspective. Throughout that exact same two-game span, he’s caught 14-of-19 targets for 181 yards. Kittle is yet one more skill-position participant who should do his factor.

San Francisco 49ers Set To Unleash Christian McCaffrey

In his first recreation as a member of the 49ers final week, McCaffrey noticed 23 performs on offense. He finally put up 62 whole yards on 10 touches, together with two catches. It was a restricted pattern dimension, however one the 49ers hope to construct on Sunday in opposition to the Rams.

“It is an actual problem for anyone, however it’s important to work at it,” Shanahan on McCaffrey selecting up the 49ers’ offensive scheme, by way of the group’s official web site. “He did that quite a bit within the 48 hours he was right here to be part of it final week, and I am not anxious about him doing it this week too.”

Now that Samuel has formally been dominated out, I’m anticipating McCaffrey’s full intergration into the 49ers offense come Sunday. That’s to say, not less than doubling his rep counts with many extra alternatives within the passing recreation.

In six outings with Carolina forward of final week’s commerce, McCaffrey caught 33 passes. This shall be key if the 49ers are to beat Samuel’s absence.

Acquainted Should-Win Territory Towards The Los Angeles Rams

It was simply final November that San Francisco headed right into a Week 10 matchup in opposition to these Rams with a 3-5 document and going through the actual risk of a misplaced season. Garoppolo and Co. responded by profitable that “Monday Evening Soccer” matchup by the rating of 31-10.

This represented San Francisco’s fifth consecutive regular-season win over the Rams, a streak that will finally prolong to 6 in Week 18.

The groups are completely different. Circumstances change. Los Angeles isn’t taking part in on the similar degree as we noticed throughout its run to the Tremendous Bowl title final season. Even then, some issues are the identical. There’s an expectation that 49ers followers will take over SoFi Stadium in Southern California once more on Sunday. The result may act as a harbinger of issues to come back for San Francisco heading into its Week 9 bye. It’s must-win territory, and the group should do it with out Deebo Samuel.
