Matty Healy is reportedly on holiday in Hawaii with his model ex Meredith Mickelson after splitting from Taylor Swift.

Sources recently denied claims that Matty and Taylor had rekindled their short-lived romance and they are no longer in contact.

And now, The Sun have reported The 1975 frontman, 34, is enjoying a lavish holiday with his ex Meredith.

Meredith shared a snap on Instagram on Monday showing two bowls of fruit inside a luxury villa, with the caption ‘happiness’ – a song released by The 1975.

It comes after she was said to have been ‘blindsided’ at news Matty was dating Taylor Swift just four weeks after their split.

Musician Matty was still dating Meredith, 23, in February when he spent a number of days holed up in a recording studio with Taylor, with Matty even staying at Taylor’s house while he was in America and returning to her home after the recording sessions. 

Sources have told the Mirror that Meredith had ‘no idea’ Matty and Taylor were growing closer, with the model said to have told her pals: ‘I hope he treats her better than he treated me.’

A source said: ‘She did not see this coming at all. All the time Matty was in the studio with Taylor, she thought nothing of it. He’d spend the day in the studio and then come home to her.

‘Things were going well until around March 29 then, out of the blue, he stopped replying to messages and calls.

‘He just ghosted her and that was it. Then, four weeks later, he went public with Taylor.

‘She was totally blindsided and, of course, it has stung her a bit. She doesn’t want to play the victim and has no intention of saying anything publicly.’

They added that those in her inner circle were ‘quite angry’ about how he treated Meredith, insisting ‘he is not a good guy’.

It comes after Taylor sources shut down that the singer had rekindled her short-lived romance with Matty, just weeks after their two month fling came to an abrupt end.

The American superstar was thought to have reconnected with The 1975 star Matty after he fired a female crew member from his band’s current world tour.

But friends claim she is still single and no longer in touch with the British singer as she prepares to bring her Eras tour to the United Kingdom.

A source close to Swift told MailOnline: ‘They are absolutely not together and aren’t even in contact anymore.

‘She’s enjoying being single and has been spending time in the studio and hanging out with friends in New York. This is all rubbish.’

The two stars shocked the world when their romance was revealed in May, amid speculation they had already been dating for weeks following her split from British actor Joe Alwyn.

But in June a friend close to the star confirmed Swift is ‘single’ again.

She and Matty were last seen together on May 25 in New York City. The split also comes three days after Matty was seen kissing a male security guard at a Denmark concert.

The performer was initially linked to Swift following their first meeting in 2014.

A source told People: ‘She had fun with him, but it was always casual. They are no longer romantically involved.’

Matty had been seen publicly supporting the singer on her The Eras Tour, shooting the star loving glances as he attended her Nashville concerts with stars including supermodel Gigi Hadid.

The pair were also seen in New York City, where Swift owns a home, on numerous occasions – among them appearances outside a recording studio and out for dinner with friends Margaret Qualley, Phoebe Bridgers and Zoe Kravitz.

Matty was previously in relationships with Australian model Gabriella Brooks and singers Halsey and FKA twigs, from whom he separated in 2022.

Meanwhile Swift has been linked to numerous figures in the past – among them John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Harry Styles, and ended her last relationship with Alwyn, whom she dated for six years, this past April.

She remained friends with Matty following their first encounter, and the former shut down relationship rumors on several occasions over the years.

However, the pair became the subject of attention after a source spoke to The Sun last month and confirmed that the pair had, in fact, been seeing each other.

The insider told the media outlet that the two were ‘massively proud and excited about this relationship.’

The source also expressed that the performers, who recently worked with Swift during the recording process of her recently-released album Midnights, were ‘madly in love.’

Another source went on to speak to People and expressed that the hitmakers were ‘not just platonic.’

They added that Swift was ‘very focused on her tour but is enjoying hanging out with Matty when she is off.’
