Rep. Colin Allred, D-Texas, featured the southern border wall in a recent Senate campaign ad despite having previously claimed the wall proposed by former President Trump was “racist.”

The Democrat was seen in a July campaign ad walking with law enforcement along a portion of the border wall as he hit Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, for opposing a border measure backed by Democrats in the upper chamber.

However, Allred has had a long history of opposing the border wall and other elements of Trump and Republicans’ efforts to secure the border.

In fact, at an event in 2018, Allred told attendees, “If they build that racist wall, my generation is the one that will tear it down. You’re not going to have a wall in this country.”

As a representative, he has voted against countless bills that would institute strict changes to address the crisis at the southern border. Most notably, he opposed the H.R. 2 Secure the Border Act, which had been advocated by House and Senate Republicans. The legislation is understood to propose the toughest crackdown on the southern border and illegal immigration in consideration.

He also voted for a resolution to end the national emergency declaration that then-President Trump had made for the southern border and in favor of legislation that would limit the president’s ability to suspend or restrict the ability of illegal immigrants to enter the country, among other controversial measures.

“Congressman Allred is laser focused on solutions supported by both parties to fix our broken immigration system and secure our border. Ted Cruz has been in the Senate 12 years and has nothing to show for it. He tanked bipartisan legislation that would secure our border. Lyin’ Ted only cares about himself, and Texans know he will never be part of a real solution,” Allred spokesperson Josh Stewart told Fox News Digital in a statement.

While the border bill in question was negotiated by bipartisan Sens. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., Kyrsten Sinema, I-Ariz, and James Lankford, R-Okla, Republicans have largely rejected the resulting bill and were vocal critics of the negotiations as they were taking place.

After the long-awaited release of the negotiated bill this year, Republicans promptly rejected it.

Some members of the Republican conference in the Senate have even said the measure would have made the current border crisis worse.

While some have pointed to Trump’s opposition to the bill as the reason it did not succeed, one Senate Republican told Fox News Digital it would have failed either way. But they said they imagine Trump is happy to take credit.

In the most recent procedural vote on the border bill, two of the three negotiators, Sinema and Lankford, voted it down.

Another Republican criticism of the bill has been that the president currently enjoys the authority to address many of the concerns at the border right now and doesn’t need additional congressional permission to fix the crisis.

Allred is not the only Democrat who has apparently changed their tune on the border wall as concerns about illegal immigration surge. Vice President Harris, who is running as the Democrat nominee for president, has also used the Trump-era border wall in campaign advertisements portraying her as strong on the southern border.

Trump’s campaign slammed Harris over this, with a spokesperson previously saying that statements that Harris now supports Trump’s border wall are “preposterous and false claim(s).”

A top political handicapper, the Cook Political Report, rated the Texas Senate race “likely Republican,” with Cruz boasting a significant advantage. However, given the Democrats’ relatively unfavorable Senate election map, the Texas and Florida Senate races are their best pickup opportunities.

Allred has spent far more on the race than Cruz so far, with millions more spent on past ad spending and on future reservations ahead of the election.

Southern California teacher investigated for allegedly fathering child with teen student

A Southern California teacher is under investigation after he allegedly fathered a child with one of his students.

The suspect was identified as Steve Graves, 61, by the Anaheim Police Department. Graves is currently employed with the Anaheim Union High School District.

On Aug. 26, 2024, a woman reported to police that in the late 1980s, when she was a student at Loara High School in Anaheim, she had a sexual relationship with one of her teachers.

Detectives investigated and discovered a second woman who allegedly had a sexual relationship with the same teacher, Graves. She also told police she had a child together with him.

Both victims were minors at the time of the incidents.

On Aug. 29, Graves was placed on administrative leave by the school district. Anaheim police said they are in contact with him.

“Anaheim Police detectives are working with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office to determine what charges can be filed, if any, based on the statute of limitations,” officials said.

Graves has worked as a teacher at Loara High School in Anaheim, Ball Junior High School in Anaheim and Lexington Junior High School in Cypress.

No further details were released as the case remains under investigation.

FIRST ON FOX – The Democratic National Committee, on Thursday, plans to troll former President Trump, over his alleged preoccupation with the size of the crowds at his rallies and those of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Fox News has learned that the DNC will launch a video of Harris baiting Trump over crowd sizes, from Tuesday’s first and potentially only presidential debate between the Democratic and Republican Party nominees.

The video will play on a mobile billboard that will circle the Tucson Music Hall, site of Trump’s Thursday campaign event in battleground Arizona.

Harris is seen in the video in a clip from Tuesday’s debate discussing Trump’s comments at his rallies, in what the Democrats characterize as “incoherent ramblings.”

The vice president in the debate noted that Trump – at his rallies – speaks about fictional characters, including Hannibal Lecter from the psychological horror crime thriller film “Silence of the Lambs.” She also spotlighted that the former president talks about how “windmills cause cancer.”

Harris then noted that “people start leaving his rallies early, out of exhaustion and boredom.”

Harris’ shifting of the spotlight to crowd size during the debate came as she was answering a question on border security, which is seen as an issue that politically benefits Trump.

Trump, apparently taking the bait, responded to Harris, arguing, “she said people start leaving. People don’t go to her rallies. There’s no reason to go.”

“And the people that do go, she’s busing them in and paying them to be there. And then showing them in a different light,” the former president claimed. “So, she can’t talk about that.”

Trump for years has drawn large crowds at his rallies, which can stretch up to three to four hours, from a pre-show of speakers to Trump’s often-hour to two-hour-long stream of comments.

Harris, since replacing President Biden nearly eight weeks ago atop the Democrats’ 2024 ticket, has also drawn large crowds of similar sizes to her rallies, but she keeps her comments shorter, with her speeches rarely extending over a half an hour in length.

Hours before the start of the debate, the Harris campaign launched an ad in another attempt to get under Trump’s skin over crowd size. The spot used clips from former President Barack Obama’s much-talked about tweaks of Trump during Obama’s Democratic National Convention speech last month.

Ahead of Trump’s stop in Tucson, DNC spokesperson Cameron Niven argued that “no matter what Trump rambles on about tonight, he will not be focused on the issues that matter to Arizonans.”

Arizona is one of seven key battleground states that decided the outcome of the 2020 election between Biden and Trump and are likely to determine the winner of the 2024 White House showdown.

Harris holds two rallies Thursday in another of the crucial swing states – North Carolina.
