Harrowing video shows police rescue woman chained to floor of Kentucky home

Newly released body camera video captured the dramatic rescue of a woman who was left chained to the floor of a Kentucky home for two days.

Louisville Metro police officers climbed through the second-floor window of a decrepit home last Wednesday night after neighbors reported hearing the distressed screams for help.

The officers tried to break into the building by kicking down doors and windows only to find the home completely barricaded, the LMPD said Tuesday.

The woman, fortunately, broke through the window to the second-floor room where she was being held captive.

“I got a ladder!” a neighbor shouted from the crowd that had gathered on the street.

The footage shows one of the officers ascending the ladder into the dilapidated home where the hysterically sobbing woman was chained.

After climbing over the broken glass and into the filthy bedroom, the cop grabs the dirty chain from the woman’s neck and attempts to calm her down.

“The woman had a chain around her neck, which was secured by a MasterLock, and that chain was bolted to the floor with screws,” the department said.

In the video, the crying woman can be heard apologizing to the cop and telling him that her captor kept the key to the lock on his keychain.

After finding a hatchet in the mess of the home, the two officers broke the chain free from the floor and helped her outside, where she was treated by EMS.

In the moments after her rescue, the traumatized woman continued to shake and cry as firefighters used bolt cutters to safely remove the locked chain from her neck.

Moises May, 36, was arrested two days after the woman’s rescue, according to the LMPD.

May allegedly trapped the woman, who he shares a child with, inside the house the day after they had an argument that turned physical when he held her down in the bathroom and chopped off the majority of her hair with a machete, according to an arrest report obtained by Wave.

The woman had left that night and only returned the following day to collect her belongings when he locked her inside a deadbolted room.

“You’re gonna get it tonight. I told you the next time you leave and don’t come home, I’d kill you,” May is accused of telling her after forcing her to take off some of her clothes and slapping her.

May allegedly stormed out of the home after chaining her to the ground and stealing her cell phone so she wouldn’t call for help.

He has since been charged with one count of kidnapping, intimidating a participant in the legal process, wanton endangerment, assault, terroristic threatening and harassment.

ESPN's Jay Williams went on a weird rant about Kentucky, Cooper Flagg, and marketing

ESPN analyst Jay Williams doesn’t seem quite ready to get over his Duke Blue Devils losing to Kentucky on Tuesday night in Atlanta. Nearly 48 hours after the Wildcats came out with a 77-72 win, Williams posted a… confusing… video to his X/Twitter account.

Essentially, he went on a two-minute rant that included explaining to his viewers what basic-level marketing is and why the projected number one pick in the NBA Draft, Cooper Flagg, is making headlines (a tough one to decipher) before making comparisons to a social media post from Nike about Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jaylen Brown. I really didn’t understand the purpose behind any of it.

It sure sounds like a guy wanting to show how “not mad” he is that the most talented Duke team in 20 years (his words) couldn’t get the job done against Kentucky.

My only question is this: what is the point of this video? Is it so Jay Williams can show off the B+ he received in Marketing 101 during his freshman year at Duke? Is he attempting to apologize to UK fans for his employer posting a giant Flagg (who turned the ball over twice in the final 15 seconds of his team’s loss) graphic behind him after the Blue Devils coughed up a nine-point halftime lead?

I would understand the latter at least a little bit if that were the case, but this felt more sore loser-y and condescending than anything.

Home security camera captures video of escaped wallaby hopping through Eastern Kentucky

Deer, raccoons, squirrels. These are all animals that one might expect to see captured on a security camera in Kentucky. A wallaby on the loose? Not so much.

Chavies, Kentucky resident Lexie Mullins posted a video Nov. 9 from her backyard security camera to Facebook showing a rather unusual sighting: A marsupial – initially identified as a kangaroo – hopping on by. Three days later, the wallaby was back again, its walkabout through Eastern Kentucky apparently ongoing.

As for what a wallaby, native to Australia and from the same family as kangaroos and quokkas, was doing in Kentucky, officials said the wallaby was an escaped pet.

“They had a valid transportation permit when they brought the animal into Kentucky from Tennessee and the species is not on the list of prohibited exotic species,” said a spokesperson from the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources.

On Tuesday evening, though, the wallaby’s sojourn came to an end.

East Kentucky Thermal Drone Recovery announced that they had recovered the wallaby and returned it to the animal’s owners.

Thursday Headlines: How high should Kentucky rise in next college hoops rankings?

The Kentucky Wildcats have a full week off following Tuesday night’s big victory in the Champions Classic over the Duke Blue Devils. With no games for a few days, we’re looking ahead to the release of the next college basketball rankings on Monday.

Kentucky will undoubtedly rise in the rankings from their #19 spot in the AP and #18 spot in the Coaches Poll.

The question becomes, how high should the Wildcats rise in the rankings?

Obviously, a major factor in the ratings would be how the teams ahead of Kentucky perform. There are some matchups to keep an eye on this weekend in that regard: (2) Alabama plays at (13) Purdue, (15) Marquette plays at Maryland, (9) Arizona plays at Wisconsin, and (16) Indiana hosts South Carolina.

Regardless of any other outcomes, it would be hard to keep Kentucky out of the top 15 after taking down Duke. We recently saw Auburn jump six spots in the AP Poll after defeating previously 4th-ranked Houston, so if I had to guess, we’d see Kentucky rise 4-6 spots.
