Mavs' Anthony Davis is upgraded to questionable against Nets after 6-week injury absence
Anthony Davis appears on the verge of returning to the Dallas Mavericks after a six-week injury absence, with the star forward upgraded to questionable against the Brooklyn Nets to start a four-game road trip Monday night.
Davis hasn’t played — and had been listed as out — since injuring his left groin in his Dallas debut on Feb. 8. That was about a week after the seismic trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles and enraged many Mavericks fans.
The Mavs changed the 10-time All-Star’s injury designation for the first time Sunday when they listed Davis as doubtful.
The defending Western Conference champions are in a tight race with Phoenix for 10th place in the West, the final spot in the play-in tournament.
Dallas will be without Kyrie Irving for the rest of the season. The star guard tore the ACL in his left knee in a 122-98 loss to Sacramento on March 3.
While the injury to Irving could have been a reason for the Mavericks to consider shutting down Davis, he has continued to work toward a return, going on road trips and staying engaged with his teammates.
Davis had an abdominal injury before the trade, missing his last two games with the Lakers and the first two he could have played for Dallas.
When he did return in a 116-105 victory at home against Houston, Davis had 24 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and all three of his blocks in the first half before pulling up lame late in the third quarter with the groin injury. He finished with 26 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists.
Seven of Dallas’ remaining 11 games are on the road. After playing the Nets, Dallas is at the New York Knicks on Tuesday, at Orlando on Thursday and at Chicago on Saturday.

ICE protest in Dallas: One arrested
Demonstrators took to the streets in Dallas on Monday, protesting against President Trump’s immigration policies and ICE arrests. The protests started around 7 p.m. Monday night near the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in the Trinity Groves area of Dallas.
DALLAS – Dallas ICE and the Department of Homeland Security returned 122 Chinese citizens to their home country on June 3 after they were found to be in the United States illegally, federal authorities said.
Convicted Criminals on Flight

The group, which included 96 men and 26 women ranging in age from 19 to 68, was flown from various U.S. detention facilities to the People’s Republic of China, according to a news release from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Many of those removed had been convicted of serious crimes, the agency stated.
Among the individuals removed were those convicted of murder, rape, human smuggling, and drug trafficking.
Notable cases highlighted by ICE include a 47-year-old man convicted of murder, a 27-year-old man convicted of rape, a 49-year-old man with a drug-trafficking conviction, a 55-year-old man convicted of human smuggling, and a 50-year-old woman with a bribery conviction.

The Dallas Cowboys will officially kick off minicamp on Tuesday, June 10, and one of the biggest questions is whether superstar defender Micah Parsons will be in attendance.
Ahead of the start of camp, Parsons vowed to show up for minicamp, noting he has yet to miss one during his NFL career, and he is following through on that promise.
On Monday, Parsons and cornerback Trevon Diggs were among the players to stop by The Star in anticipation of Tuesday’s camp. Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram shared the news on social media.

“For those tracking… Cowboys DE Micah Parsons and CB Trevon Diggs were back at The Star on Monday, and the expectation remains that both will be in attendance for the start of mandatory minicamp beginning on Tuesday,” Harris wrote on X Monday afternoon.
Parsons continues to show the Cowboys signs of good faith despite the front office dragging its feet.
Last season, Parsons totaled 12 sacks and 43 tackles. By hitting the double-digit mark, Parsons joined an exclusive club of NFL legends to record at least 10 sacks in each of their first four seasons.

The other three players were Pro Football Hall of Famers Dwight Freeney, Derrick Thomas, and Reggie White.
Hopefully Parsons and the Cowboys can agree to a deal before the pressure is on for a potential training camp holdout.
