AUGUSTA, Ga. | Divina Checo hit home runs in both games of a Peach Belt Conference softball doubleheader as Georgia College & State University and Augusta University each won a game Saturday (March 29) afternoon at Jaguar Field. The Jaguars rallied back at the end of the first game to win the opener 6-5, while the Bobcats did their rallying to win the nightcap and rubber match of the series 8-7. The Bobcats, who won their fifth consecutive league series, improved to 18-15 overall and to 11-4 in the PBC, while the Jaguars fell to 19-20 and 3-12. GCSU remains…

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A new taproom is now open in Augusta.

Ready Player One had its grand opening this weekend.

The new business has games, a bar and a tap room.

You can find them on Broad Street.

They will have live music and several big screens where you can watch live sports.

The new business is pet-friendly and open until 2 a.m.

Augusta Drops Game Two of the Series Against North Georgia – Augusta University


Augusta, Ga- Augusta fell to North Georgia in game two of their series on Saturday afternoon at Jaguar field 31-1. The Jaguars are now 5-9 in the conference and 8-25 overall. The first place Nighthawks move to 12-2 in the conference and 23-9 overall.

The lone run for the Jaguars came in the first inning when Nolan Turner doubled to lead off the game. Mike Morrison would follow with a RBI single to plate Turner. For Morrison, he extended his hit streak to 25 straight games. 

Parker Ingram and Eli Overstreet also collected hits for AU. 

The UNG offense would be the story in scoring runs in all but one inning.

The series wraps up Sunday morning with the first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.
