The Falcons misplaced two in a row for the primary time for the reason that season’s first two weeks. 4. Kyle Pitts will get TD No. 3
Atlanta TE Kyle Pitts hauled in 2-of-8 targets for 28 yards because the Falcons fell to the Panthers final Thursday evening. Pitts, nonetheless, led the group in targets for the second time in 4 days, though he solely had two receptions. He now has a formidable 21 targets within the earlier three video games, however his line of 9 catches, 135 yards, and just one landing in that stretch nonetheless leaves loads to be desired.
Pitts’ upside on this sport will seemingly be fairly restricted as QB Marcus Mariota will most likely be constrained as a sport supervisor. Nevertheless, the 2021 first-round choice will attempt to search for a bump in output and effectivity in opposition to a notoriously fragile Bears protection. By the sport’s finish, Pitts ought to file 40+ yards and his third landing of the season.
3. Drake London will get a 40+ yard sport
Falcons WR Drake London caught 5-of-6 receptions for 38 yards and a rating final Thursday. That was his highest receiving yardage since mid-October, although it was a great factor that he hauled down his third landing of the season. Talking of that rating, London needed to work for it. He needed to execute a difficult seven-yard seize between two defenders simply earlier than the halfway mark of the third quarter.
Nonetheless, Falcons followers actually need to see London break the 40-yard mark. The rookie did it in his first three NFL video games this season however has executed it simply as soon as since. Getting into Week 11, nonetheless, we see him having a tricky time. Once more, similar to with Pitts, Mariota’s position as sport supervisor will restrict London’s potential yardage right here. Nonetheless keep in mind that when it comes to Go DVOA, the Bears rank thirtieth general. Meaning it ought to be lifelike to anticipate London to complete with simply over 40 yards.
2. Marcus Mariota is shaky within the air however strong on the bottom
In the course of the Falcons’defeat to the Panthers, Mariota accomplished 19-of-30 passes for 186 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He additionally carried thrice for 43 yards.
General, Mariota’s closing stats had been respectable regardless of being below fixed siege and being knocked down 5 instances. The veteran quarterback related with Drake London and KhaDarel Hodge for scores of seven and 25 yards, respectively. Nevertheless, he took two sacks on the Falcons’ final multi-play drive, which ended any probability of a comeback. Mariota’s throwing yardage whole was his second-best since Week 3, however he’s now been held below 200 yards in six of his earlier seven video games.
On the intense facet, Mariota did have his fourth multi-touchdown sport of the season. Earlier this week, there was hypothesis that he could also be benched in favor of Desmond Ridder, however these have been quashed. Mariota will begin
Angelo Guinhawa ·
Karl Rasmussen ·
Brendan Smith ·
Is that essentially a great factor? We’re uncertain. The fact is that at this level, we are able to’t depend on him to offer a lot within the passing sport. Once more he has had seven video games with fewer than 200 passing yards. He’s fairly strong on the bottom, although. As such, now we have him going just below 210 all-purpose yards with one landing and no INTs.
1. Falcons almost blow this one at residence
The Bears haven’t received a sport since Oct. 24, however their offense has been significantly better just lately. Of their earlier three video games, the Bears have really averaged 30.3 factors. That’s tied for third-best within the NFL. No, actually, it’s.
Throughout that point, QB Justin Fields has performed like a person possessed. He has 441 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and an interception whereas additionally dashing the ball 36 instances for 385 yards and 4 extra touchdowns. That’s a bit greater than 275 all-purpose yards per sport! Nevertheless, he’ll now face a Falcons protection that enables 3.9 yards per carry to opposing quarterbacks.
Talking of the Falcons, regardless of having a barely higher file getting into this sport, they’re simply so unpredictable — within the dangerous sense. Keep in mind that Atlanta boasts the Twelfth-best offense within the league this season, but it surely has been restricted to 17 or fewer factors in three of the earlier 4 video games.
Will they rediscover their rhythm right here? Typically talking, we don’t suppose so, however bear in mind that also they are dealing with a really shaky Chicago protection. It won’t be by the air, however the Falcons offense ought to just do sufficient to get by. ATL will present its flaws right here, however they are going to nonetheless barely survive the Bears.

Braves News: Season reviews, Rickey Henderson, hot stove, more
The offseason continues to move on as the Braves stay quiet for now. Today was the flurry of first base movement, which fortunately didn’t impact the Braves, who have no opening at first base or designated hitter. It is hard not to get antsy watching players move all over the place in the offseason where the Braves opened up a bunch of money to do something but have yet to do anything of note. I do maintain that something (probably multiple things) of note will happen, but it is frustrating to see options dwindle and players move. All of that said, my preference coming into the offseason was signing Ha-Seong Kim, a viable starter, and a viable outfielder. I have begun to suspect that a trade is going to be the pathway to at least one of those holes and Kim is still out there. Time will tell and all we can do is try to remain patient. Plenty of time remains before Spring Training and the season begin.
