Former Steeler Joey Porter Reveals Travel Quirk in AFC North Cities
CINCINNATI — Former Steelers linebacker great and Bengals rival Joey Porter is self-aware when he goes to AFC North cities. He discussed how intense the division rivalries are on Hard Knocks this week, even saying he won’t eat out in Cincinnati, Cleveland, or Baltimore.
“Once you learn the rivalry, it’s way more intense than anybody can speak on it,” Porter Sr. told his son and current Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. “Like I don’t even eat in Cleveland. I never eat in Cincinnati. And I never eat in Baltimore. Like they can just forget about it, they talk about the good crab in Baltimore. Nah. I ain’t never had it. They gonna spit in Joey Porter’s sandwich. They gonna spit in my pasta.”
Porter famously caused controversy after running on the field during Cincinnati’s playoff loss to Pittsburgh in 2016 after Antonio Brown was hit by Vontaze Burfict with a penalized tackle.
The former hard-hitting linebacker was the ire of AFC North fans on the playing field from 1999-2006.

Steelers Suffer Massive Blow, Could Sign Odell Beckham Jr.?
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are heading into Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles without not one, but three key players within their starting lineup. After working throughout the week expecting wide receiver George Pickens to be out, the team was struck with two other injuries they’ll need to adjust for.
Defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi and safety DeShon Elliott will not play in Week 15, both due to groin injuries. Elliott tried to return to practice the final day of the week, but was unable to finish. Ogunjobi was not able to practice at all.
Now, the question becomes how do they replace them? Expect Minkah Fitzpatrick to take on a different role against the Eagles, giving him more of an opportunity ot make an impact against Saquon Barkley. As for the defensive line, the Steelers have three options in Dean Lowry, Isaiah Loudermilk and possibly even Preston Smith.
Outside of their injury issues, the Steelers could have their eyes on a free agent acquisition. The Miami Dolphins decided to part ways with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., making the 32-year-old a free agent once again.
The Super Bowl champion has already jumped on board a team making a run before, why not now? And, understandably, he’s not the same receiver he once way, but maybe he’s a more reliable set of hands for a team that could use some added depth.
Plus, he costs so little that he isn’t a player you’re taking a risk on. Maybe, just maybe, they consider it.

Slopes at Boyce Park open for the season
PLUM, Pa. (KDKA) — The slopes at Boyce Park opened for the season on Friday.
A quick rush of skiers and snowboarders took to Boyce Park Four Seasons Lodge in Plum on Friday. Two of five of the county-owned trails were open. The snow tubing area has yet to open.
“I am very excited because I was thinking there would be less snow and it’s pretty good,” said Vicente Huneeus.
He didn’t mind that only a few slopes were open.
“It’s good enough having two of them because you have different difficulty levels,” Huneeus said.
Many on the slopes were teenagers. Parents brought out their young children, in some cases for their first-ever ski lessons.
“They were so excited. They wanted to go skiing and snowboarding,” one mom said.
People KDKA-TV spoke with on Friday said they love how convenient the slopes are.
“It’s so nice to not have to go to Seven Springs. Like just a 20-minute drive and look at what we have,” said Abby Ruffini.
