Pittsburghers show their generosity and help Animal Friends in their time of need
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Last week, Pittsburgh’s Animal Friends found itself in a precarious position.
It put the call out as they desperately needed donations to their food pantry as they said their Chow Wagon Pet Food Bank’s shelves were nearly bare.
They posted to social media asking the community to help restock their shelves and they delivered.
Whether it was online donations through Chewy or Amazon, or even people arriving at Animal Friends with trunks full of food, they once again had the resources they needed to take care of the furry friends under their care.
Not only did everyday people step up to help Animal Friends, but one Mt. Lebanon business came through in a massive way.
Rollier Hardware filled an entire truck with more than 450 pounds of dog food and treats and delivered it to the Camp Horne Road location.
While the gesture helped Animal Friends in this moment, those who still want to help can do so by donating on Chewy or Amazon.

Steelers re-sign veteran running back
The Pittsburgh Steelers are re-signing veteran running back Trey Sermon, the team announced today. Sermon has had multiple on-and-off stints with the Steelers since signing with the team rookie mini-camp. He’s appeared in three games for the Steelers in 2025.
Sermon was drafted in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. In 46 career games, Sermon has 505 yards on 134 carries and three touchdowns with the 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, and Steelers.
The Steelers have the chance to put the Baltimore Ravens on the ropes this Sunday. If they defeat the Detroit Lions, the Ravens would have to defeat one of the New England Patriots or Green Bay Packers for the Week 18 matchup between the Steelers and Ravens to have any stakes. The Steelers can also clinch the division before Week 18 if they win their next two games and the Ravens go 1-1 or 0-2.
