I Do Not Understand How People Can Live in Downtown Minneapolis

Once I left dwelling for school in 2014, this skyline view was one thing I used to be desperately eager for. My finest buddy and I referred to it as “freedom metropolis”, excited to department out from our small-town lives in Lengthy Prairie.

It took one 12 months for me to comprehend metropolis dwelling wasn’t for me, and I began searching for jobs nearer to dwelling in Central Minnesota. My finest buddy alternatively fortunately calls Minneapolis dwelling to this present day.

Over the weekend that buddy bought married in a ravishing ceremony at a church on the U of M campus, and the reception was held on the fiftieth ground of the IDS tower downtown. That is the tallest constructing on the left of the picture above. Each places have been completely gorgeous, and excellent for celebrating a ravishing love story.

However boy did I neglect the way to navigate the roads in that space of the state.

I am used to the well-marked, large lanes of central Minnesota, and Minneapolis felt extra like a maze of one-way roads, highway development cones, bike and bus lanes, and pedestrians in all places. Six years in St. Cloud has made me mushy in relation to driving in Downtown Minneapolis.

My husband and I have been chatting as we left the resort on Sunday and could not consider that that space is a spot the place individuals stay their lives. Hustle and bustle was my factor in faculty, however I don’t stay that life anymore. I commend folks that navigate these streets each day. That could be a extremely precious ability set I not possess.

The Downtown Minneapolis space works nice for some and is a nightmare for others. And that is OK. All of us have our preferences. Fortunately, my newly married mates stay in a quiet neighborhood outdoors of the center of Minneapolis and I’ve no issues attending to and from their place.
