Pilot Project Brewing prepares to launch in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE— From an tackle on Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago, to town of Milwaukee, one Illinois-based brewery is making the trek north to start operations within the Brew Metropolis.
Pilot Challenge Brewing is taking on the previous Milwaukee Brewing Firm brewery close to downtown. It comes after Milwaukee Brewing Firm closed up store earlier this yr.
Pilot Challenge has a singular enterprise mannequin not typically seen within the Wisconsin brewing world. Pilot Challenge considers themselves to be a brewery incubator and accelerator. They assist different breweries to provide their beer by offering them an area to brew.
Pilot Challenge CEO and co-founder Dan Abel stated it represents a brand new area of interest within the brewing market.
“We’re calling fallacy to the concept you’d ever must personal a brewery,” stated Abel. “If you wish to be a artistic brewer, you shouldn’t should be stressed in regards to the working price of operating a facility like this.”
As a UW-Madison graduate, Abel stated he is aware of Wisconsin effectively. Nonetheless, being a Chicago-based brewery, he is aware of Pilot Challenge might want to make some diversifications to achieve success within the Milwaukee market.
“Chicago is the craft beer capitol of America and Milwaukee is the birthplace of American beer, so there’s going to be some pure pushing and pulling, however our enterprise isn’t married to anybody’s geography. We launched a model out of California, out of Cincinnati, so a Milwaukee model may have very effectively launched in our Chicago house,” stated Abel.
Pilot Challenge expects to brew in Milwaukee by someday in late November. Whereas Pilot Challenge is taking on Milwaukee Brewing Firm’s house, they won’t play a job in brewing their beer. As an alternative, Milwaukee-based Eagle Park Brewing will proceed to provide Milwaukee Brewing Firm merchandise.
