The Indianapolis Colts made a swift decision Thursday following the announcement that cornerback Isaiah Rodgers Sr. and defensive end Rashod Berry were suspended indefinitely due to violating the NFL’s gambling policy.
Both Rodgers Sr. and Berry were waived minutes after the league revealed the duo would be suspended for at least the 2023 season. It’s a costly mistake for both players, who are eligible to apply for reinstatement following the conclusion of the 2023 season.
Here’s a look at how Twitter reacted to the news of the Colts parting ways with the young cornerback:
A shame it came to this but it was expected after this news started. This will definitely help him learn his lesson
I hope to see Rodgers play football again! https://t.co/4mjUtbvUST

Good. This team is trying to establish a new culture. Calvin Ridley got suspended for an entire season and some players still thought it was a good idea to gamble. SMH https://t.co/4tcE8t9Ctd

This is mind boggling to me… You know you aren’t competing this year, so who cares, let him serve his time and be ready to go next year https://t.co/pFEadBGdTW

Not surprised by this at all, I knew the Colts wouldn’t stand for it. Isaiah has a ton of talent and seems like a good dude, I hope he lands on his feet. https://t.co/cQzh529ouw
