2 hospitalized following police chase on south side of Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS — Two people have been hospitalized following a police chase on the south side of Indianapolis this morning.
Beech Grove Police located a stolen vehicle in the 5300 Block of East Thompson Road. The vehicle was reported stolen on Tuesday from an Uber Eats driver on the southeast side of Indianapolis.
The vehicle fled before officers could initiate a stop, resulting in a pursuit down Thompson Road that ended in a serious bodily injury rollover crash at Banta Road and U.S. 31.
During the pursuit, police say speeds reached 60 to 70 miles-per-hour with little to no traffic prior to the collision.
Police say the suspect slowed down for intersections before disregarding a redlight at U.S. 31 and Banta Road.
The suspect struck a vehicle, which hit two other stopped vehicles. The victim’s vehicle then rolled down an embankment.
The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Joshua Montgomery, and victim were both transported to Eskenazi Hospital with “serious but non-life-threatening injuries.”
Montgomery was arrested and charged with Resisting Law Enforcement with Serious Bodily Injury, Auto Theft, Reckless Driving with Serious Bodily Injury and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Additionally, Montgomery was also wanted on a Warrant out of Marion County for Domestic Battery and Invasion of Privacy.
As the 2024-25 season officially comes to a close for the Indianapolis Colts, the team has wasted no time signing a couple of players to new extensions, along with inking some futures/reserves contracts.
According to a team release, the Colts have signed running back Tyler Goodson and linebacker Segun Olubi to one-year extensions.

Goodson will look to head into his third season with the Colts in 2025. He finished his second year in Indianapolis with 32 carries for 153 rushing yards, 11 catches for 61 receiving yards, and brought in two total touchdowns in the process.
As for Olubi, he’s coming off his third season with Indianapolis primarily as a depth piece at linebacker. During 2024, he collected 12 combined tackles through the season, with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, both coming during the Colts’ Week 7 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Jaguars return home after getting stuck on Indianapolis tarmac for 7 hours during storm
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars returned home early Monday after spending seven hours waiting through a winter storm on the tarmac at Indianapolis International Airport.
The National Weather Service reported heavy snow — between 2 and 5 inches — freezing drizzle and wind gusts of up to 40 mph in central Indiana.
The Jaguars (4-13) had hoped to get out of Indy before the worst of it, but their game against the Colts went to overtime and caused enough of a delay that players, coaches and staff got stuck. The Jaguars lost 26-23.
Their charter flight finally was cleared to leave at 1 a.m. EST and landed in Jacksonville two hours later. It delayed owner Shad Khan’s scheduled meeting with coach Doug Pederson to decide their path moving forward.
The Kansas City Chiefs avoided traveling in the storm by remaining overnight in Denver following their game against the Broncos.

‘It’s all gonna go great’: Pat McAfee, Colts fans react to Ballard, Steichen returning
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is as frustrated as the fans. He understands the desire for change. But he believes in his team’s leaders.
Irsay posted on social media Sunday night, saying Chris Ballard will remain general manager and coach Shane Steichen will remain coach for 2025. The Colts just finished an 8-9 season and they haven’t made the playoffs for four straight years.
Steichen has an 17-17 record in two seasons as coach. Ballard has been with the Colts for eight seasons. The Colts have gone 62-69-1 over that span with two playoff appearances and no division titles.
“I know fans who want an immediate change in leadership will be disappointed,” Irsay wrote. “That means we all have a lot to prove, so we’ll get back to work and keep doing what we can to earn your support and make you proud to be a Colts fan.”
Many Colts fans — notably former punter Pat McAfee — aren’t pleased.
