Six people were hospitalized, including a fugitive and their passenger, after a police chase began in Southfield and ended in a crash on Detroit’s west side, police said Monday.

A female Uber driver was in critical condition after a fleeing suspect struck her vehicle and she was ejected, according to Detroit police Chief James White. Four others were listed in serious condition, said White, who did not provide the condition of the remaining victim.

The suspected driver and a passenger were taken into custody and were among those hospitalized, the chief said. The driver is wanted as a parole absconder for second-degree murder and possession of cocaine, he said.

The chase began in Southfield around 5:30 p.m. near 12 Mile Road and Northwestern Highway and ended in Detroit. The driver ran a red light and struck the Uber headed west on Outer Drive near James Couzens Freeway, White said.

“I’m sure Southfield (police) is going to be issuing charges for fleeing and eluding as well as some other charges,” White said. “… The key is that we’re handling the investigation because of the critical nature of the accident. That’s where we are right now.”

Allen Park — For the second consecutive year, the Detroit Lions have announced they’ve sold all of their season-ticket packages for home games at Ford Field.

“Our Lions Loyal Members are the heartbeat of our fanbase and the true foundation of our incredible home-field advantage,” Detroit Lions COO Mike Disner said in a statement. “We are proud to have reached a sellout of memberships and want to encourage interested fans to join the waitlist for the best opportunity to attend our games at Ford Field in 2025 and beyond.”

To join the waitlist, the team requires a non-refundable $100 deposit per ticket that will be applied to the eventual purchase of a package.

The Lions also sold out season tickets last year, for the first time in Ford Field’s history, while averaging 64,850 attendees for their home slate. Those fans were rewarded with the franchise’s first division title and home playoff games in three decades.

With the success came hefty price hikes, with some season-ticket packages at the front of sections more than doubling. Despite those rising prices, this year’s sellout shows the team properly gauged burgeoning demand.

The Lions did hold back a limited inventory of single-game tickets, which are scheduled to be made available through the team website and Ticketmaster on Wednesday evening, after the NFL releases its full schedule.
