Cleveland Public Library serves free summer meals for kids

Cleveland barber shot at by client with no money to pay for haircut, owner says


CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The owner of the Urban Kutz Barbershop chain is asking for help in finding the man who he says fired a shot at one of his barbers Sunday.

According to Waverly Willis, the suspect walked into the barbershop in the 11100 block of Detroit Ave. on Sunday.

He didn’t have the money to pay for a haircut and during the confrontation, Willis said the man pulled out a 9mm pistol and shot at one of the barbers.

The barber was not injured and the shooter fled the scene.

Cleveland Police said they received the around 3:30 p.m. for shots fired in the area.

Officers said their investigation led them to learn that an argument between an employee and a client led to the client firing one shot inside the business, however no one was struck.

Officer said the suspect then exited and shot four to five times outside the business and left the scene.

No injuries were reported by police.

Amber Alert canceled for missing Jefferson County girl


The Statewide Amber Alert for a missing 7-year-old girl from Jefferson County was canceled Monday night, according to the U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The girl was last seen around 3 p.m. Monday on Midway Street in Empire when her father, who does not have custody of her, allegedly abducted her from a family member’s home after an argument, authorities said.

The girl was located around 9 p.m. later that night, authorities said.
