15-year-old boy shoots 4-year-old brother, Cleveland police say
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A 15-year-old boy was arrested Sunday afternoon for shooting his four-year-old brother, Cleveland police said.
The shooting happened around 4 p.m. in the area of E. 117th Street and Union Avenue. This is in the city’s Mount Pleasant neighborhood.
Police said the victim was transported to Cleveland Clinic-South Pointe Hospital by private transport.
According to the police report, the child, whose name has not been released, had three gunshot wounds. He was shot in the forearm, thigh and abdomen.
Police arrested the 15-year-old brother inside a home on E. 117th Street shortly after the shooting.
The teenager told police the gun was in the backyard underneath the deck.
He is now charged with felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
Police have not released a motive behind the shooting.

Cleveland firefighters battle blaze at storage unit facility
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Firefighters battled a blaze at a storage unit facility Thursday morning.
Crews were called out to the building at Grayton and Brookpark Roads just before 8 a.m.
According to Cleveland firefighters, 14 units had caught on fire.
Cleveland Fire Lt. Mike Norman said someone working with a torch accidentally caught stored clothing on fire.
There were no injuries.

US Marshals arrest 20-year-old murder suspect in Cleveland
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – U.S. Marshals said a 20-year-old murder suspect was arrested Thursday after months on the run.
According to a news release, Kevin Wright was wanted by Cleveland police for aggravated murder.
Marshals said on Jan. 2, 2024, Tyrone Griffin, 17, died after he was hit by a car and then shot in the head.
The crash and shooting happened in the area of East 69th Street and Fleet Avenue in Cleveland’s Broadway-Slavic Village neighborhood.
Cleveland officers identified Wright as a suspect and a warrant was issued, according to the release.
Marshals on Thursday tracked Wright to East 164th Street in the Lee-Harvard neighborhood, and they arrested him after a short chase.
“For over two decades, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Cleveland Division of Police have been working together to combat violent crime in the City of Cleveland by taking violent fugitives like this off the street.”

37-year-old man murdered in Cleveland’s Lee Harvard neighborhood
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A 37-year-old man was murdered on the city’s East side early Thursday.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Lashawn Roby.
Cleveland police said Roby was found in the 17300 block of Harvard Ave. around 5:35 a.m.
EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
At this time, there are no arrests.
