Chicago drive-by shooting leaves at least 4 dead, 14 wounded

A drive-by shooting in Chicago killed at least four people and hospitalized 14 others, authorities said Thursday.
The incident unfolded around 11 p.m. Wednesday in the River North neighborhood, when at least one person fired shots from a dark-colored vehicle into a crowd standing outside Artis Restaurant and Lounge, police said.
The vehicle sped away immediately.
Two men, aged 24 and 25, and two women died in the attack, FOX32 Chicago reported, citing police.

At least 14 others, aged 21 to 32, suffered gunshot wounds, police said. Their conditions remain undisclosed.

The lounge had hosted a listening party for rapper Mello Buckzz when the shooting happened, according to local media.
So far, no arrests have been made, police stated.

1 dead after shooting on Indy’s near south side
INDIANAPOLIS — One person died in a shooting on Indy’s near south side on Saturday evening.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 2300 block of S. Pennsylvania Street at approximately 9:45 p.m. on report of a shooting. This is a residential area located near Raymond Street and Madison Avenue.
Officers reported finding an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound outside a residence. The victim was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition, but later was pronounced deceased.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office has not released the deceased’s name at this time.

Weather service assessing damage across Iowa, Illinois and Missouri
The National Weather Service has teams of storm surveryors in the field April 18 investigating several reports of severe storms and tornado touch downs across eastern Iowa, northwest Illinois and northeast Missouri.
According to the weather service’s website, windgusts of up to 60 to 70 mph along with teacup-sized hail and several tornadoes were reported April 17.
Many homes and outbuildings were damaged, trees were uprooted and power lines were downed in Lena, Illinois, where the most significant damage occurred, the site pointed out.
Very strong winds also were reported near Washington, Iowa, and Colmar, Illinois, where several outbuildings and grain bins were destroyed.
The weather service received reports of confirmed and possible tornadoes in the areas of Lena, Pecatonica, Shirland, Rockton, Roscoe and Capron.
The teams will be assessing damage this weekend into next week along with county emergency management teams to determine what types of storms occurred and their paths.
Dozens of power outages were reported, as well.
As of the afternoon of April 18, ComEd was reporting 85 active power outages across northern Illinois, down from 241 on April 17, and 6,751 customers affected, down from more than 18,000.
The bulk of those outages and the most customers impacted are concentrated in Jo Daviess and Stephenson counties.
