Indiana Pacers 2024 NBA Draft rumor tracker

INDIANAPOLIS — The 2024 NBA Draft begins next week, and the Indiana Pacers just wrapped up their final pre-draft workout on Thursday. They are trying to prepare for an odd reality in which they have three picks, yet all of them are in the second round.
This year is the first in which the NBA Draft will hold the draft over two nights. It will be on June 26 and 27, and the blue and gold will make their selections on night two, barring trades. “We’re not approaching it any different as far as our preparation,” general manager Chad Buchanan said of the draft late last month.
Indiana will first pick at 36th overall, then will select twice in a row at 49th and 50th. They may be able to get a rostered player with their best pick, but their draft night could largely be about two-way contracts, draft rights, or finding future draft picks in deals.
“With pick 36, we’ll probably try to get the best player we can get,” Buchanan said. The team understands that they are limited in some ways.
Because the Pacers don’t pick until later in the proceedings, there hasn’t been much in terms of reporting or rumors from connected insiders about their draft strategy so far. However, with one week until the selections are made, news will continue to leak out about Indiana, and other franchises, in the coming days.
Here is what has been reported about the Pacers so far ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft.
Mock drafts
Many mock drafts have come out in recent weeks, which is the case every draft cycle. A quick glance over many of them reveals some themes and repeated names.
Report(s) from 2023 say the Pacers are high on Bobi Klintman
A report last year from Michael Scotto in HoopsHype explained that some figures at the 2023 NBA Draft combine believed that the Pacers were high on Bobi Klintman, who played at Wake Forest during the season prior. The Swedish wing dropped out of that draft cycle despite reports of the Pacers giving him a draft promise and is now eligible for the 2024 NBA Draft.
The Pacers have their own picks and many extra future picks to make a trade if they are so inclined since their roster is largely full. This post will be updated.

Election 2024: How libertarians could affect Iowa congressional races
![Election 2024: How libertarians could affect Iowa congressional races](https://gray-kwqc-prod.cdn.arcpublishing.com/resizer/v2/5S2VEJS34JHFTJSIXS3LGXNZXY.jpg?auth=fff5e0c92b2b891ad01714ed00b1d2471f4f047afa1ba8af65213c099b504b21&width=1200&height=600&smart=true)
DES MOINES, Iowa (Gray Television Iowa Capitol Bureau) – Libertarians will be on the ballot statewide for the first time since 2018.
Incumbent Republican Congressman Zach Nunn will face off against a well-funded Democrat, and now a Libertarian entering the field may make it even tougher.
Marco Battaglia says his candidacy gives voters a choice to break away from the two-party system.
“We got Polk County pretty much where people just show up and check, you know, the D next to the name. And we got a lot of the other counties where people just show up and check the R next to the name. A good goal would just to be get people thinking about those three options rather than just knowing they’re going to show up and vote for a color,” Battaglia said.
In 2022, Nunn won by 2,145 votes against Democrat Cindy Axne.
With yet another tight race on the horizon, Battaglia says he’s not worried about being labeled a spoiler.
“I think that’s a really shortsighted way of looking at politics. The sooner that Iowans and the people of the district get used to a multi-party system, a system where someone can just run as no party as an independent and have a fair race the better I think it’ll be for everyone that lives here,” Battaglia said.
Iowa State University Political Science Professor Dave Peterson says if Battaglia has any impact on the race, it would be as a spoiler.
“The margins matter, right? If the Libertarian pulls a couple of points from Nunn – if that takes him from 53 to 51, not a big deal. But if it takes him just over the edge where the Democrat, you know, has slightly more then it matters, but I think that’s unlikely. I think Nunn is likely to win this race,” Peterson said.
Peterson says the effects of a third-party candidate may be muted since Donald Trump being on the ballot will lead to higher Republican turnout.
Battaglia isn’t the only Libertarian running for Congress. In Eastern Iowa, Nicholas Gluba is running in Iowa’s 1st congressional district. In Northwest Iowa, Charles Aldrich is running in the 4th district.
