2 South Dakota men arrested for Montana homicide


HELENA, Mont. (IKOTA) – Montana Division of Prison Investigation brokers arrested two South Dakota males, charging them with murder and arson following a fireplace in Fallon, Mont., final month.

Sterling Brown was arrested Wednesday in Camp Criminal, S.D. He’s charged with deliberate murder for inflicting the loss of life of Isaac Service on Jan. 23. Brown was additionally charged with arson for inflicting the construction hearth the place Service was residing.

Jake Burghduff, arrested Tuesday in Spearfish, was charged with arson and tampering with bodily proof.

The investigation was performed by DOJ brokers and the Prairie County Sheriff’s Workplace, in cooperation with the South Dakota Legal professional Normal’s Workplace Division of Prison Investigation. The DOJ’s State Hearth Marshal’s Workplace investigated the hearth and decided it was arson, turning the case over to legal investigators.

COVID-19 case numbers level off in Montana, slight increase in influenza cases


Data released Friday by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services shows the number of COVID-19 cases reported in Montana leveling off.

The number of COVID-19 cases recorded for the week ended Nov. 9 was 281, the same as the week before. Hospitalizations dropped slightly from 15 patients to 13 during the same timeframe. There were no COVID-19 deaths reported for the week ended Nov. 9.

Influenza case numbers ticked up to 20 for the week ended Nov. 9, up by four patients from a week prior. There were no influenza-related hospitalizations or deaths recorded for the week ended Nov. 9.

No positive RSV tests were recorded for the week ended Nov. 9.
