Beverly Hills restaurant responds to viral fight video
A Beverly Hills restaurant responded Wednesday to viral videos of a person getting punched out during an altercation earlier this year.
The incident occurred when a group of people were harassing patrons dining outside the Porta Via location on North Canon Drive on April 26, a statement posted by the restaurant on Instagram read.
One video recorded by streeetpeoplemedia and shared with KTLA shows someone in a hooded sweatshirt taking a swing at the patron, who then punches back, striking the individual and sending the person to the ground.
The restaurant issued a statement about the incident after word spread that a manager, and not a patron, knocked out the person from the group.
“He was not an employee nor a manager as has been recently falsely reported. At the time, police were called and charges were not pressed by anyone involved, and while unfortunate, the matter was closed,” a portion of Porta Via’s statement read.
Porta Via said misinformation was being spread on social media after videos from bystanders were posted.
They also said they “deplore violence and harassment of any kind” and that all patrons deserve an enjoyable dining experience.
Several people commented on the restaurant’s Instagram post expressing gratitude toward the patron.
“He’s been harassing your patrons for months. You should be thanking that man for actually doing something about it,” hilalove said.
“you should still hire the man, he did the work. lol,” rachelamazing posted.

Prosecutors reviewing 'new evidence' in Marilyn Manson sexual abuse probe
The sex crimes division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing new leads and evidence in the investigation into shock rocker Marilyn Manson, accused by multiple women, including “Westworld” actor Evan Rachel Wood, of sexual abuse, rape and torture, officials announced Wednesday.
The musician and artist, whose real name is Brian Warner, has vehemently denied the allegations, though he has settled at least two such lawsuits.
One of those was in 2023 with “Game of Thrones” actor Esme Bianco who alleged sexual assault, sexual battery and human trafficking. That same year, according to reporting by the Los Angeles Times, he also settled with a Jane Doe who claimed she was orally and vaginally raped by him.
At least a dozen women have come forward with claims against Manson since 2021, the same year his West Hollywood home was raided by investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
In response to the accusations, Howard King, Manson’s attorney, told The Times that all the allegations have three things in common:
“They are false, alleged to have taken place more than a decade ago and [are] part of a coordinated attack by former partners and associates of Mr. Warner who have weaponized the otherwise mundane details of his personal life and their consensual relationships into fabricated horror stories.”
LASD’s Special Victims Bureau, which handles investigations into physical and sexual abuse, turned their 19-month-long investigation into Manson over to the district attorney’s office in 2022, The Times reported.
In a statement released Wednesday, the DA’s office, which has yet to file any charges against Manson, said prosecutors are carefully reviewing “new leads and additional evidence.”
“New evidence has emerged in the last few weeks, adding to an already extensive case file presented to our office by the LASD,” L.A. County DA George Gascón said. “It is our office’s responsibility to ensure that we have a complete picture of the admissible evidence available before making a filing decision.”
Gascón added that his office anticipates making a filing decision on the matter soon.

Police seek suspects who took $2K worth of jewelry by convincing woman the items were fake
Police in Orange County are asking for the public’s help to locate two men who allegedly stole thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry from a woman by convincing her the items were fake.
The men approached the victim at her residence, telling the woman they were looking to buy fake jewelry, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
One of the suspects “gained entry” into the woman’s home and convinced her that a gold ring and necklace she owned were actually fake.
The men then fled the area on foot with the jewelry, and were last seen in the area of Bristol Street and Warner Avenue.
They’ve been described as two Hispanic men, one wearing a white and black shirt, and the other, who was wearing a white and pink plaid long-sleeve shirt and jeans. Both were wearing straw hats, police said.
Police did not say if the two men paid for the items at a reduced price because of the fake jewelry claims, or if they were able to convince the woman to hand the items over willingly without payment.
Anyone with information about the suspects is urged to contact SAPD detective V. Hernandez by email or by calling 714-245-8372.

Disneyland Resort increases prices on most theme park tickets, Magic Keys
Enjoying the magic of Disneyland will be more expensive after the Anaheim theme park resort raised prices for most daily tickets and annual passes on Wednesday.
Most park tickets increased 6% in price while annual passes, known as Magic Keys, increased 6% to 20%.
The highest-priced one-park, one-day ticket for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure now costs over $200, a first in the park’s history.
Here’s a breakdown of Disneyland’s ticket price increases
The most expensive tickets rose from $194 to $206 for one-day single park admission and from $259 to $271 for a one-day park hopper. The lowest-priced one-day, one-park ticket has remained unchanged at $104 since 2019.
Disneyland Magic Key annual pass prices increased from 6% to 20%.
- Inspire pass: $1,749, up 6%
- Believe pass: $1,374, up 10%
- Enchant pass: $974, up 14.7%
- Imagine pass (Southern California residents only): $599, up 20%
Disney also unveiled more perks for its Magic Key pass holders, such as being among the first to ride the new attraction Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and getting a special gift in honor of the ride’s opening. The Lightning Lane Multi Pass discount for pass holders increased from 20% to 50%.
Daily theme park parking rates remained unchanged at $35.
The cost of the Lightning Lane Multipass line-cutting service, formerly known as Disney Genie+, rose 7% to $32 on pre-arrival purchases. The cost of Lighting Lane Multipass purchases made at the parks will vary.
Gavin Doyle, the founder of MickeyVisit.com, conducted a study of Disneyland price increases throughout the years. He believes the increases reflect the continuous strong demand for the park.
Regardless of the ticket price increases, Doyle noted that people can still save money when visiting the “Happiest Place on Earth.”
“There continue to be options for guests to prioritize a budget vacation over the most optimally timed vacation. If you are willing to travel on weekdays during the less popular months of the year or be reactive to Disney’s deals throughout the year, you’ll be rewarded with lower prices on tickets and deals on hotels in the area,” Doyle told KTLA in an emailed statement.
“The lowest-priced one-day ticket has not increased in price since 2019. That ticket is available 34 days of the year. If you are set on visiting during the most popular months, you’ll pay the premium prices.”
Last week, Disneyland announced a discounted child’s ticket that can be used for visits to the “Happiest Place on Earth” beginning in early 2025.
Beginning on Oct. 22, guests can purchase kids’ tickets for as low as $50 per child per day, valid for visits from Jan. 7 through March 20, 2025.
Guests can also upgrade the tickets to park hopper tickets or add on additional services like Lightning Lane Multi-Pass.
The ticket deal is available for children ages 3 to 9. Theme park reservations will be required.
Disneyland also teased that theme park discounts for Disney+ subscribers will be available for the 2024 holiday season. Details on that will be shared later.
The Disneyland Resort is currently celebrating the Halloween season until Oct. 31.
