Washington Capitals voted to have worst NHL home jersey in poll conducted by hockey analytics personality
While the Washington Capitals’ Reverse Retro jerseys were highly regarded by players and fans, the team’s home jersey featuring the Capitals’ hockey stick wordmark is not getting the same love.
Friday, @JFreshHockey, a popular hockey analytics account on X that has over 121k followers, published results of an poll he conducted through Google where 1,301 voters rated each team’s 2024-25 home uniform on a scale of 1 to 10.
The Capitals finished dead last, notching an average score of 3.7.

According to the poll, 18 percent of voters gave the Capitals’ home jersey a 1 out of 10 — more than any other team except for the Utah Hockey Club (20 percent). Seventy-nine percent of hockey fans that voted in the poll gave the Caps’ home jersey a score of 5 or lower.
The Montreal Canadiens (7.7), Calgary Flames (7.5), Buffalo Sabres (7.4), Boston Bruins (7.3), and Detroit Red Wings (7.1) made up the top 5. Twenty-four percent of fans gave the Canadiens’ home jersey a rating of 10, which… really?
These are the final results of the 2024-25 NHL home uniform ranking survey.

While the poll has flaws and is influenced by who voted and what teams they root for nationally, the results suggest it wouldn’t hurt the Capitals to consider a rebranding as its wordmark logo does not appear to be highly regarded. When RMNB conducted a poll with its followers in 2021, fans voted the Screaming Eagle to be the team’s best logo when choosing between the Capitals wordmark, W, Weagle, and Capitol Dome logos.

Trae Stephens: Silicon Valley and Washington Must Build Together
February 27, 2026, was a flash point in the cold war between Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C.
The AI giant Anthropic had drawn a red line with the Pentagon, forbidding the military from using its product for autonomous weapons or the mass surveillance of Americans. The Pentagon retaliated by ending their contract and designating Anthropic a supply-chain risk. Anthropic has since sued to overturn this designation.
The feud-turned-legal battle is an acute example of a long-festering dynamic: technologists who want control over the use of their creations and who do not trust the government to understand or regulate their products, and policymakers wary of an unelected tech oligarchy that has become its own power center in American society.
Trae Stephens is no stranger to this dynamic.

(North Dakota Monitor) – North Dakota will send 60 National Guard members to Washington, D.C., starting in April, for an estimated three months to help police the city.
The move is in support of President Donald Trump’s August executive order declaring an emergency in D.C. The president said assistance from states is necessary to address what he described as rampant crime in the nation’s capital.
“Safeguarding the citizens, federal workers and elected leaders in our nation’s capital is a matter of national security, and we appreciate these Soldiers volunteering for this important mission,” Gov. Kelly Armstrong said.
Most of the 60 North Dakota members will come from the 131st Military Police Battalion, based in Bismarck, according to the announcement.
