Three people displaced after North Austin fire


The Austin Fire Department reported at 12:01 a.m. Saturday that they were responding to a structure fire in the 9000 block of Briardale Dr.

According to a post on X, fire crews were on scene fighting a fire coming through the roof of a residential home.

The exterior fire was reported to be knocked down just before 1 a.m., with the department stating that the cause was improperly discarded smoking materials.

Three people were displaced, but no injuries were reported.

Street dog rescue saves more than 1,000 Texas animals


Over the last few years, Sasha has saved more than a thousand animals with the help of her family, several volunteers and her network of fosters, known as Jack Jack’s Pack. The nonprofit finds lost pets and returns them to their owners. They also rescue and rehabilitate injured, abandoned and abused animals in and around Central Texas.
