Man taken to hospital after stabbing in Augusta
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – A person was taken to Augusta College Medical Middle with what investigators describe as life threatening accidents after being stabbed late Tuesday evening.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Workplace says deputies had been known as to the stabbing on the 2600 block of Nannette Drive, between Lumpkin and Windsor Spring Roads, at 11:10 p.m. When the arrived, they are saying the discovered a male who had been stabbed a number of instances. They are saying the incident is domestic-related and a juvenile has been detained.

Late night fire damages apartment building following reports of fireworks
An apartment building on Stevens Creek Road was damaged due to a fire on Wednesday, July 3.
According to the Augusta, Georgia Fire/EMA Facebook page, authorities responded to the 900 block of Stevens Creek Road at approximately 10:55 p.m. The caller reported hearing fireworks going off for over two hours before noticing the apartment building was on fire.
“The caller immediately began knocking on doors, informing residents of the fire and urging them to evacuate. On arrival, firefighters notified dispatch that the incident required a full response. The fire was brought under control and quickly extinguished,” the Augusta, Georgia Fire/EMA Facebook post said.
Authorities said 16 units were burned and there was one minor injury reported by a woman who escaped from her balcony. The residents were put in touch with the Red Cross.
“The cause of this fire is under investigation,” authorities said.

Augusta Volleyball Releases 2024 Schedule – Augusta University
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University volleyball and head coach Sharon Quarles have announced the full 2024 slate. Coming off a stellar year as the reigning Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Regular Season and Tournament Champions, the Jaguars are set for another deep run into the NCAA Tournament
Season Opener: The Jaguars kick off their season at the Florida Southern Tournament in Lakeland, FL, on September 6, where they will face Palm Beach Atlantic University. The tournament continues with matches against Lewis University and Florida Southern College on September 7.

- Florida Southern Tournament: Lakeland, FL (September 6-7)
- Pacer Invitational: Aiken, SC (September 13-14)
- PBC/Gulf South Crossover: Montevallo, AL (September 20-21)
- Augusta Tri-Match: Augusta, GA (October 12-13)
Home Opener: Augusta will host Shorter University (Ga.) on September 17 at 7:00 PM, marking their first home game of the season.

Final Stretch: The regular season concludes with an away game at Georgia College on November 9. The Jaguars aim to build momentum heading into the postseason. The PBC Tournament is set for Nov. 12-16 before the NCAA Regional Tournament the week of Nov. 18. The NCAA Natonal Championships will be held the week of December 2.
Returning Stars: Augusta is likely to be led by returning All-American setter Janvier Buggs and All-Conference performer Sophia Kruczko. PBC Tournament MVP Madelyn Eden is also a key returning piece.
