Distict 1 COMMISSIONER JORDAN JOHNSON BELIEVES THE BOATHOUSE IS ONE OF THE CITIES BEST ASSETS and EXPANDING ITS REACH WOULD MEAN A LOT FOR THE CITY AND ROWING CLUB. “I THINK THAT WE SHOULD GO AHEAD AND START MOVING IN THE DIRECTION OF GETTING IT FIXED, WHETHER THAT MEANS TEARING IT DOWN AND BUILDING IT UP OR RENOVATING OFF OF WHAT WE HAVE NOW,” says Johnson. “THAT CONVERSATION NEEDS TO BE HELD BECAUSE WE’RE LOSING OUT ON RENTALS and THERE ARE OTHER ORGaNiZATIONS THAT LIKE TO USE THE BOATHOUSE FOR THEIR EVENTS. SO, WE DEFINITELY NEED TO GET THAT FACILITY FIXED.”
