PITTSBURGH, Pa. (KDKA) — An investigation is underway after police say banners with Nazi symbols and messages were found on two different Pittsburgh bridges.

Police say the banners had handwritten Nazi symbols and messages on them and were found on Saturday morning on the West End Bridge and on the Tenth Street Bridge.

Police say both signs were removed, documented, and secured as evidence as the investigation into their discovery is ongoing.

According to police, neither sign had any specific threats towards any individuals or groups.

According to the NFL transaction wire, the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted offensive linemen Garret Greenfield and J.D DiRenzo for workouts on Monday. Pittsburgh lost right guard James Daniels for the season with a torn Achilles, so the team is looking for more help.

Greenfield was undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft out of South Dakota State. His connection with the Steelers is that while at South Dakota State, he played left tackle right next to Steelers guard Mason McCormick. Greenfield competed at the NFL Combine and the East-West Shrine Bowl. While at the NFL Combine, he set the event record for best vertical jump by an offensive lineman at 38 1/2 inches.

Greenfield, 25, was signed by the Seattle Seahawks but was released at the end of training camp. He has not joined a practice squad since that moment. Greenfield can play both tackle spots and kicked inside at times for the Seahawks.

Meanwhile, DiRenzo was undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Rutgers. He joined the Carolina Panthers in 2023 but did not sign anywhere following the 2023 season. DiRenzo can play both tackle spots for the Steelers, who still need more depth along their offensive line to feel comfortable.
