McCormick responds to Squad member who claims 'white supremacy and xenophobia' are the right's 'true religion'
Rep. Summer Lee, D-Pa., claimed in a post on X that “white supremacy and xenophobia” are the political right’s “true religion” and that the values of those on the right do not stem from Christ’s life and instruction.
“It’s long been known that the true religion of the right is white supremacy and xenophobia. None of their real values are from the life and teachings of the Christ of the Christian Bible…” she wrote in a post on her @SummerForPA account.
Sen. Dave McCormick, R-Pa., fired back at the congresswoman.
SEN. DAVE MCCORMICK ‘OPTIMISTIC’ ABOUT WORKING WITH SEN. FETTERMAN TO FIND ‘COMMON GROUND’: ‘EMBRACING’ CHANGE
“None of us should take lectures from someone who has repeatedly demonstrated antisemitic behavior and is now condemning millions of her fellow citizens who simply want freedom, opportunity and secure borders,” he declared in a tweet.
Lee swiftly fired right back at him.
“Senator, I’m condemning those who profess to follow the teachings of Christ but do not love their neighbor or do right unto the least of these. Is that you? When he’s hungry, will you feed him or cut SNAP benefits? When he’s a stranger, will you invite him in or build a wall?” she replied.

Lee has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since early 2023.
McCormick was just sworn in as a senator earlier this month.
Lee has criticized newly-inaugurated President Donald Trump’s executive orders.
WHITE HOUSE OPM ORDERS ALL DEI OFFICES TO BEGIN CLOSING BY END OF DAY WEDNESDAY
“Trump’s executive orders scapegoat Black + brown communities while his billionaire donors profit off the polluted air, overcrowded detention centers, and prison labor these EOs create. Immigrants aren’t why your wages are low and costs are high—it’s the billionaires,” she declared in a post on her @RepSummerLee X account.

Massachusetts teen battling in court over T-shirt thrilled with Trump's 'only two genders' policy
When President Donald Trump said in his inaugural speech, “There are only two genders,” it made Massachusetts teen Liam Morrison very happy, hoping it would help him in his legal battle against his Middleborough school district as the Supreme Court considers whether to take his case.
In his inaugural speech, Trump railed against “government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life.” And then added, “As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female.”
FEDERAL APPEALS COURT RULES AGAINST MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT WHO WORE ‘ONLY TWO GENDERS’ SHIRT
Those are the exact words Morrison wore on a T-shirt two years ago that got him thrown out of school.
He told Fox this week, “It makes me feel that we definitely have a bit of a boost.”
Morrison, who’s now 14 and a freshman in high school, was 12 years old when he wore a T-shirt to school that said in bold letters, “There Are Only Two Genders.” The principal accused him of disrupting his Middleborough Middle School and of demeaning LGBTQ students. He was also banned from wearing its replacement that read, “There Are Censored Genders.”
His attorney, Tyson Langhofer, senior counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom, says this is a freedom of speech issue, that Liam expressed his beliefs about gender while the school encouraged students to celebrate Pride the same way.
“My client was punished for simply having that phrase on his shirt in a public school when he was responding to the school’s message of a very different perspective on sex,” Langhofer said.

Trump also doubled down on his words by signing an executive order requiring the federal government to recognize only two sexes, male and female, and banning transgender service members.
In a statement to Fox, the legal department of the LGBTQ+ advocacy group GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) said, “Every student has the right to attend public school without fear of bullying and harassment, and nothing in the executive order changes that. As the supreme court has recognized, public school officials have both the authority and obligation to provide a safe learning environment for all students, which is what the school did in this case.”
But Langhofer says this case is precedent-setting.
“It really comes down to the question of whether the government has the right to punish a seventh-grader for simply peacefully expressing a viewpoint that was different than what the school was expressing,” Langhofer said. “And we think that that law has been clearly established.”
Liam also sees the larger picture of his fight.
“I’m hoping … that this will be seen as not only just a one-court battle but also a sign for people to speak up about their own beliefs and also a recognition of that trying to say that a biological fact isn’t true is just absurd and people are willing to fight for it,” Liam said.
In a few weeks the U.S. Supreme Court will decide whether to take up Liam’s case. Langhofer said it’s not clear what effect, if any, Trump’s executive order will have, and that the case ultimately rests on the weight of the First Amendment.

Pete Carroll Addresses Steelers’ Russell Wilson Rumors
PITTSBURGH — Is Russell Wilson leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers and heading to the Las Vegas Raiders? The answer isn’t no, but according to the Raiders new head coach, it’s too early to decide whether or not that’s going to happen.
Since the moment Carroll was hired by the Raiders, Wilson’s name has been floated as a “player to watch” for Las Vegas’s quarterback void. Aidan O’Connell is expected to be in consideration, but many see Wilson as an easy option to reunite with his former head coach and try to make a run in the AFC West.
Speaking on What The Football, Carroll was asked about a potential reunion with his Super Bowl-winning quarterback, and didn’t shut down the possibility of it happening.
“It’s so early and we’re just in the midst of trying to find the puzzle pieces, not even putting them together yet, so I can’t even say. Free agency hasn’t come yet,” Carroll said.
He did hint at the idea, though, saying the Raiders are open to anyone who can help the team win.
“I promise you, if you’re a real competitor you’re not letting options get away from you,” Carroll added.
Wilson led the Steelers to the Wild Card round of the playoffs and had moments where people talked about him being an MVP candidate. Things went downhill fast at the end of the season, losing five-straight games to finish the year, but not everything was on Wilson.
As for Pittsburgh, they are believed to favor Justin Fields as their next starter, but aren’t shutting down the possibility Wilson returns. That could change if Wilson heads west to Vegas.
