Dunkin’ has Boston Kreme Munchkins — but it might be tough to find them

A little chocolate-covered treat is proving to be a well-hidden American treasure.

Dunkin’ confirmed to TODAY.com that Boston Kreme Munchkins Donut Hole Treats are (and have been) available at very select locations nationwide.

A bite-sized version of Dunkin’s Boston Kreme Donut, the Munchkin is filled with Bavarian Kreme and then dipped in chocolate icing — and isn’t officially on the menu.

Back in 2020, Dunkin’ gave its customers a glimpse into the Munchkin varieties it sells around the globe and included the diminutive dessert. Ironically, at the time, the Boston Kreme Munchkins Donut Holes were available across the U.K, E.U. and Montenegro, but not the country that actually contains Boston.

Dunkin’ says, though, that the best way to see if they’re available at a location near you is with the Dunkin’ mobile app, though they didn’t reveal specific locations where customers can get their hands on the mostly off-menu treat. This has caused its customers to do a bit of investigating of their own.

On June 24, influencer Nicki Marie posted a video on both her Instagram and TikTok that clues viewers into the little-known Dunkin’ dinkster.

“I am about to cause an uproar in the Dunkin’ community,” Nicki Marie says in the video. “This is not small talk menu items.”

The Massachusetts resident coyly digs around in her bag while saying that a Dunkin’ in her town makes Boston Kreme Munchkins every day, much to her immense pleasure. Pulling a single chocolate-coated treat from her bag, she shows it off and happily takes a bite.

“I’m shook,” she says, after giving one to her smiling kid.

In the comments section on TikTok, Dunkin’ fans reported other locations where they’ve spotted the Boston Kreme Munchkins — in Royersford, Pennsylvania, as well as many places in Massachusetts, in Fall River, Wrentham, Attleboro, Rehoboth and more.

Other commenters were shocked at the existence of these tiny treats.

“I can’t even find a blueberry munchkin let alone a BC one…. Wth,” commented one person.

“No way. It’s not possible,” wrote another.

Another TikToker who tagged a Dunkin’ shop in Hopatchung, New Jersey shared a view of its interior well-stocked with Boston Kreme Munchkins. The video uses Cardi B’s viral “what is that?” audio to convey their shock at the rare item’s presence.

“I heard rumors of a dunkin donuts that has boston cream munchkins! I must know!!!” a Reddit user wrote in r/RhodeIsland, and another more recent thread in the same subreddit asked, “I saw online that Dunkin has been making Boston Creme munchkins and are available in Rhode Island??? Anyone know where I can find these?”

Luckily, residents of the country’s smallest state share a border with Massachusetts, where there seem to be a solid handful of locations bursting with Boston Kreme Munchkins, just a short drive away.

Bruins Believe They ‘Didn’t Do Enough’ In Loss To Flyers | NESN

The Boston Bruins suffered a 3-1 road loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

Boston entered the game in points in eight-straight games, as the Bruins are competing for a playoff spot. However, Boston’s offense struggled on Saturday, as the Bruins scored just once on Dan Vladar, and head coach Marco Sturm felt like the team didn’t do enough to create more scoring chances.

“(Vladar) played really good, he kind of made those saves he needed to,” Sturm said as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage on Saturday. “We just didn’t do enough of a good job being around him or being front of him.”

Although Sturm didn’t like Boston’s play, Vladar still made some key stops when the game was close.

Bruins forward Morgan Geekie had multiple chances and was frustrated that he couldn’t score on any of them.

“Just one of those nights,” Geekie said. “Their goalie played well. Couldn’t quite put it in the spot I wanted to a couple times and Dan made a couple great plays.”

Boston’s lone goal came from Charlie McAvoy, while Jeremy Swayman made 14 saves on 16 shots, as Philadelphia added an empty-netter to secure the win.

With the loss, the Bruins fell to 33-21-5 and are holding onto the final Wild Card spot. Boston will return to the ice at home on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

MLB notes: New Red Sox pitching directors looking to keep pipeline flowing

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Over the past few years the Red Sox pitching program has been completely transformed.

Since Craig Breslow took over as chief baseball officer, the Red Sox have gone from one of the worst organizations at developing young pitchers to one of the best, and now the club is overflowing with talented arms who are already making their mark in the majors.

That hasn’t gone unnoticed, and this past offseason one of the people most responsible for executing the club’s turnaround — former director of pitching Justin Willard — was hired away by the New York Mets to be their new major league pitching coach.

Red Sox reliever ‘fired up’ to join Team USA after dominant start to spring

FORT MYERS, Fla. — It’s hard to imagine Garrett Whitlock’s spring getting off to a better start. The Red Sox right-hander made it three straight scoreless outings through the first week of games Saturday by sending down the Minnesota Twins 1-2-3 in the third during the club’s eventual 13-8 win.

Now, Whitlock will get ready to join Team USA ahead of the World Baseball Classic.

“I’m stoked. I’ve been jittery the past two days, like, ‘Oh man it’s almost here,’” Whitlock said. “Now I’ve got to go home, do some laundry and do some packing.”
