‘No on G’ political signs stolen in Rapid City in recent weeks
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – With the general election just weeks away, the Life Defense Fund said Rapid City and the rest of South Dakota is seeing a series of “No on G” signs being stolen and vandalized.
‘No on G’ refers to the Amendment G measure on the November ballot, which would put abortion rights in the South Dakota state constitution.
Most of the missing and vandalized signs are from the Life Defense Fund and are being taken from both homes and businesses.
One person in town was seen on security footage removing a “No on G” sign from a sidewalk during the day.
Last week, a homeowner said a sign in their yard was run over and then stolen after being replaced.
The homeowner wasn’t shocked about the incidents; however, he’s turning them into positives.
”I asked a buddy of mine to give me another 23 signs and I told him ‘I’m gonna put three up in my yard with cameras.’ And then I’m gonna take the other 20, and I asked him to give me a t-shirt too. It’s like give me a big ole honk and ‘No on G’ t-shirt, I’m gonna walk the whole neighborhood, pass out as many signs as I can,” a Rapid City resident said.
A representative for the Life Defense Fund says it’s disappointing to see these incidents popping up.

VIEWPOINT | South Dakotans deserve the full story
Families in South Dakota work hard. We sacrifice a lot and ask very little from the people who govern us. We expect honesty, careful budgeting, and leadership that puts our interests above politics.
In his recent budget address, our governor painted an incomplete picture. He celebrated good results but did not explain what and who made those results possible. South Dakotans deserve more than selective storytelling. We deserve the truth.
