McMahon, No. 3 Ohio State women dominate 2nd half, beat UNH

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Cotie McMahon tied a profession excessive with 20 factors and No. 3 Ohio State allowed solely seven factors within the second half of a 92-36 rout of New Hampshire on Thursday.

Sydney Parrish added 18 factors and Chloe Moore-McNeil had 11 for Indiana (10-0, 2-0 Huge Ten). The Hoosiers put collectively a dominant third quarter to tug away after trailing 29-26 at halftime.

Leilani Kapinus led Penn State (7-3, 0-2) with 15 factors. Makenna Marisa had 12 and Alexa Williamson added 10.

NO. 6 UCONN 69, PRINCETON 64

STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Aubrey Griffin scored 19 of her 29 factors within the second half to guide UConn previous Princeton.

UConn held off a livid rally by Princeton after Huskies start line guard Nika Muhl was knocked out of the sport early within the third quarter after a collision within the paint. The Huskies had been already lacking prime scorer Azzi Fudd.

Lou Lopez Senechal had 18 factors and Aaliyah Edwards added eight for UConn (6-1).

Grace Stone had 20 factors and Kaitlyn Chen added 18 for Princeton (5-3).

TOLEDO 71, NO. 14 MICHIGAN 68

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Sammi Mikonowicz made a layup with 13.6 seconds left after which added two free throws with 3.1 seconds remaining as Toledo obtained its first win over a ranked group in 12 years and first on the street since March of 1996.

The Rockets (7-2) prolonged their nation’s-best street profitable streak to 14 video games and ended Michigan’s dwelling profitable streak at 21, which was the third-longest within the nation.

Sophia Wiard led Toledo with 15 factors and Nan Garcia had 14, each hitting three 3-pointers.

Laila Phelia had 20 factors and eight rebounds and Emily Kiser had 15 factors and eight boards for Michigan (9-1).

NO. 20 MARYLAND 77, PURDUE 44

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Shyanne Sellers made her first 3-pointer of the sport simply earlier than the ultimate buzzer and Maryland beat Purdue for coach Brenda Frese’s 600th win.

After a Purdue turnover within the closing seconds, Sellers inbounded the ball to Abby Meyers, who drove into the lane to attract defenders and handed it out to her wide-open teammate for the game-winning 3.

Ohio State Buckeyes Key 2025 Defensive Target Sets Commitment Date

The Ohio State Buckeyes are still hoping to gain a commitment from a key pass-rusher target in the 2025 recruiting class.

While the Buckeyes have already earned the No. 1 ranking by many for their 2025 class, they are still looking to get better. Damien Shanklin is a name that they are still waiting to get a decision from.

Shanklin has now announced when he will announce his commitment.

Ohio State will not have to wait much longer. Shanklin has stated that he will be making his commitment announcement on July 5th.

Standing in at 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds, the four-star edge rusher from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana has tremendous potential. He could end up developing into a legitimate NFL talent if he reaches his ceiling.

While the Buckeyes feel that they have a good shot at landing a commitment from Shanklin and are in his top three final schools, the other two schools involved are massive threats.

He is considering offers from both Alabama and LSU. Shanklin is picking from three legitimate teams that could offer him a chance to compete for a National Championship and give him a good chance to develop into an NFL talent.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what decisions Shanklin makes. He would be a great addition to the Ohio State recruiting class.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Big Canadian high pressure system continues to build into Ohio. Bust out the shades today as it will be bright. It remains cooler than normal, however, with high temperatures in the 71 to 76 degree range. A clear sky tonight with overnight temperatures slipping into the 50s.

Warmer air builds in tomorrow with a sunny to partly cloudy sky. Afternoon temperatures back in the 80s. Humidity levels begin to go up Tuesday night.

A very warm and humid day Wednesday as the next front approaches. Temperatures rise close to 90 degrees in many towns. Thunderstorms are in the forecast from west to east Wednesday afternoon and night.
