Milwaukee Bucks: Joe Prunty Reveals Strong Message To Team Before First Game After Adrian Griffin Firing

The Milwaukee Bucks’ most recent decision to fire Adrian Griffin has drawn a mixture of reactions throughout the league, including that of Joe Pruntry. The same goes too for the hiring of Doc Rivers to replace him at this point of the season.

When news of Griffin’s firing first came out, there were several personalities who had strong opinions against what the Bucks did. Rightfully so, because the team had a good record before going through with the said decision and taking Griffin out of the equation made no sense at all.

This shifted the focus to Giannis Antetokounmpo himself, and there were rumors that the All-Star forward used his influence to have Griffin removed. The Greek Freak then issued a response to clear his name and eliminate any doubt about his part in the narrative.

Meanwhile, the Bucks have also hired Doc Rivers as Griffin’s replacement. It remains to be seen how the former Boston Celtics coach will do in Milwaukee.

Another personality who has given his piece on the matter is Joe Prunty, one of the Bucks’ assistant coaches this season. Speaking before the media, he had this to say about the recent firing of Griffin.

“It’s not easy, but you do have a job to do. That’s one of the things that we talked about as a team, just talked about, ‘Look, we still have responsibilities. We still have roles. We still have jobs that we have to do on the court.’ So you just do. You move forward. But it’s not easy. It really isn’t,” Prunty said.

Prunty himself coached the Bucks way back in 2017, just when the franchise fired Jason Kidd as the head coach. Now, he finds himself as part of the team’s coaching staff in this transition from Griffin to Doc Rivers. Everyone will have to wait and see whether this move by Milwaukee will yield dividends down the road.
