On Monday at Orchard Lake Country Club in West Bloomfield, Michigan, the name, image and likeness collective Champions Circle, held the first inaugural golf outing to benefit the student-athletes on the Michigan football team.
While the invitation-only event was accessed by patrons who got to hobnob with Wolverine players and coaches via generous donations, there were more prizes than just the day of memories. Among them, a car was auctioned, but perhaps the big prize was one which featured even more memories.
The most notable was a golf round in Florida where the winner would be paired with Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and the GOAT, Tom Brady.
That winner was identified. Golfweek:
Earlier this week, Scott Stewart, a University of Michigan alum, won an opportunity of a lifetime.
Thanks to a winning bid of about $150,000 – the exact amount has not been confirmed – he’ll play golf alongside Jim Harbaugh and Tom Brady at Seminole in Juno Beach, Florida.
That’s a hefty chunk of change for an afternoon round. But, given that the donation (winning bid) also goes to the collective to support the Michigan football team, it does more good than simply getting photo ops and lifetime memories. After all, it’s these types of forward-thinking incentives that the Wolverines need to compete on the grander NIL stage.
