Tyrese Haliburton’s Thanksgiving Dinner with US Foods and the Pacers
‘Tyrese Haliburton’s Come to Our House Thanksgiving Dinner,’ presented by US Foods and the Pacers Foundation on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2023, at Graindridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
There’s one more thing you can add to the list to be thankful for this year: sunshine on Thanksgiving.
While it’s expected to rain early in the week, the clouds will break for a sunny Thanksgiving Day.
“We’re expecting rain for much of (Monday night) and then into (Tuesday) morning,” Greg Melo at the National Weather Service in Indianapolis said. “The rain should start to move out during the afternoon hours on Tuesday.”
Wednesday night leading into Thanksgiving it’ll be cooler with low temperatures around 28-32 degrees.
“Looking at cloud cover, it looks like clouds will clear out during the day on Wednesday just before Thanksgiving,” Melo said.
Thanksgiving in Indianapolis is expected to have highs in the low to mid-50s with sunshine and no rain.
You may want to bundle up on your way home from your feasts as temperatures will drop to the low 40s in the evening and into the 30s overnight.
On Black Friday it is expected to be partly sunny with some cloud cover, but shoppers may want to bring an umbrella just in case due to a chance of rain showers.
Forecast for Wednesday
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 32. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph.
Forecast for Thanksgiving

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. Northwest wind 6 to 8 mph becoming northeast after midnight.

Parisian Market benefits Fair Haven patients
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A cancer survivor’s vision drives the Parisian Market, Fair Haven’s fundraiser to aid seriously ill patients seeking care in Indianapolis.
News 8 first shared information about the Parisian Market on Monday’s “Life.Style.Live.”
Fair Haven is a foundation that provides free housing and other services for patients and their families who are traveling to Indianapolis for medical treatment. Its housing is located near several health care facilities including IU Simon Cancer Center and Franciscan Health Cancer Center.
Amanda Milner, founder and executive director of Fair Haven, said, “I battled cancer several years ago and was a single mom at the time. I just faced a lot of the challenges that many people with cancer face. Trying to get to my chemotherapy and not being able to work.”
Whether it’s for cancer, organ transplants, high-risk pregnancies, or cardiovascular conditions, Fair Haven offers furnished housing and unwavering support to people in need at no cost. It’s all thanks to Milner, a survivor who has been through it all.
“I worked at the cancer center and went back to work and met so many patients and families traveling here to central Indiana from all over the state and beyond.”
The Parisian Market is more than just a shopping event. It’s a celebration of community, compassion, and the power of generosity. Over 150 volunteers curate the experience.
Milner said, “We have a fantastic team that puts this together every year. They collect items all year long, and they are hand-selected. We have interior designers that come together, and they are staged so people can go in and shop and see how it will look in their own homes.”
Kidney transplant patient Erik Jenkins calls his Fair Haven stay a “glimpse from heaven,” sharing that he’s made lifelong friendships and even cooks for fellow guests. “It’s like a big family. You meet people from everywhere, from all over Indiana and the world. Some people come in for different health reasons, issues, and surgeries they have to have. I’ve been privileged to transport them to and from the hospital, which created a job for me there!”
The Parisian Market has a preview night on Thursday, and was open on Friday. The market’s final day will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Glendale Town Center, 2625 E. 62nd Street. Admission, available at the door, is $5. Kids 16 and younger get in free.

Award-winning actor to race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — There have been plenty of celebrities and actors at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, although most of them do not race on the famed track.
One actor who is breaking that norm is Keanu Reeves.
The award-winning actor will be behind the wheel of a car in the GR Cup Series event at IMS this weekend.
Reeves will pilot the Eagles Canyon Racing powered by Fast Track Toyota GR86 in the AM class.
“I just want to say ‘Thank you’ and my appreciation for the opportunity to race in the Toyota GR Cup at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway,” Reeves said in a video message posted on X, formally known as Twitter.
It will be Reeves’ professional racing debut.
He’s found success in a race car before though, having won the 2009 Long Beach Grand Prix Pro-Celebrity Race.
Fans will have a chance to see Reeves drive for the first time on Friday morning during GR Cup qualifying from 9:15 – 9:30 a.m. EDT.
The GR Cup’s first race of the weekend will take place on Saturday morning, with another qualifying session and race scheduled for Sunday.
Some notable movies that Reeves has acted in during his career include the “John Wick” franchise, “The Matrix” and, fittingly, “Speed.”
The GR Cup is part of “Indy 8 Hour” weekend. The main event will be an eight-hour Intercontinental GT Challenge race called the Indianapolis 8 Hour.
Last year, Philipp Eng, Sheldon von der Linde and Dries Vanthoor teamed up to drive to victory in the Indianapolis 8 Hour.
This will be the third straight weekend that there has been racing at IMS. The IMSA TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks took place Sept. 20-22, while the Driven2SaveLives BC39 presented by Avanti took place last weekend.
This weekend’s event though will be the final major racing event of the year at IMS.
