Moore was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Austin, Texas on Friday after the indictment.

On March 24, 2013, Sherman arrived for a meeting with Moore outside his office at 55 Erieview Plaza in downtown Cleveland for her upcoming divorce trial.

While waiting outside, Sherman was stabbed 11 times.

Sherman was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

According to the indictment, the scheme to kidnap Sherman began on January 3, 2013.

The scheme began because the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office was looking into Moore’s cell phone usage in 2012 when bomb threats were called into courthouses where Moore was supposed to be in trial, according to the indictment.

The indictment said Moore exhibited a pattern of delaying court appearances scheduled with bomb threats.

The indictment said Moore purchased a new cell phone when he learned of the new investigation.

The indictment said prosecutors believe Moore planned the kidnapping of Sherman to delay her divorce trial, though the it is unclear why Moore wanted to delay the trial and why she was ultimately stabbed to death.

According to the indictment, Moore and Sherman texted back and forth setting up their meeting outside Moore’s office.

“If u are here why don’t you let me in?” one text from Sherman to Moore said.

The indictment said Moore was not inside Sherman Law office at the time of the text messages.

After the text messages, the indictment said either Moore or an “unknown co-conspirator” approached Sherman from E. 12th Street, circled around her, and chased her from 55 Erieview to 75 Erieview.

Moore or his co-conspirator then stabbed Sherman over 10 times, according to the indictment.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Cleveland Police conducted the investigation.

“Since receiving the request in June of 2021 to lead the Aliza Sherman cold case investigation, BCI’s agents have spent thousands of hours applying advanced technology and implementing investigative techniques to help solve this homicide,” Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said. “BCI is grateful for the family’s trust, patience, and confidence in our investigation that led to today’s indictment and arrest.”

19 News went to Rad Air who took several calls from drivers needing repair help after hitting the pot hole.

Manager Paul Arlesic says pot holes can cause a lot of damage.

“Just a tire, you could be anywhere from 190 dollars. If it’s up to suspension repair and wheel repair you could be looking into the thousands,” said Arlesic.

He wants to remind drivers to get regular maintenance on their vehicles. Arlesic says even if you don’t see immediate damage hitting a pot hole causes a wear and tear.

“Every crack in the road, that tires going up and down, the struts working up and down. All the suspension is constantly moving,” said Arlesic.

ODOT was able to fill in the pot hole on I-90 Thursday morning.
