Snow Returns to Northeast Ohio: What to Expect in Cleveland for Thursday and Friday
-Advertisement-
Cleveland, OH – Snow showers are expected to return to Northeast Ohio Thursday morning, bringing slick conditions to area roadways. Drivers along I-90 and other major routes should prepare for reduced visibility and icy spots as temperatures linger near freezing.
According to the National Weather Service, light snow will fall intermittently through the morning hours before giving way to cloudy skies. Highs will reach just 34°F with light winds from the northwest, making for a cold and damp day. Residents are advised to allow extra travel time during the morning commute and to exercise caution while driving.
By Thursday night, temperatures will drop to 31°F with an increased chance of snow showers after midnight. Accumulations are expected to be minimal, with less than half an inch likely in most areas. However, conditions will worsen heading into Friday.
Snow showers will intensify Friday morning, potentially mixing with rain before transitioning to all snow by the afternoon. Highs will peak near 37°F, but a sharp drop in temperatures late in the day could create dangerous refreezing on untreated roads.
Looking ahead, Cleveland can expect colder weather this weekend, with highs around 30°F on Saturday and just 27°F on Sunday. Snow showers will taper off by Saturday evening, but Sunday’s biting wind chills will make for a frigid close to the week.
