Tip to San Fran police helped FBI identify UnitedHealth CEO suspect, Luigi Mangione: source
FIRST ON FOX: A tip that was provided by the public to the San Francisco Police Department helped FBI investigators identify the UnitedHealth CEO suspected killer, Luigi Mangione.
According to an FBI NYC source, a tip was received from the San Francisco Police Department on the possible identity of Mangione following the Dec. 4 shooting in Midtown Manhattan.
The particular tip assisted FBI NYC during their investigation and eventual arrest of the 26-year-old Ivy League graduate.
“FBI New York conducted routine investigative activity and referred this and other leads to the New York City Police Department as part of our assistance to them in their investigation,” sources said. “Extensive sharing of the photos by law enforcement led to the identification by a citizen and subsequent arrest by the Altoona Police Department.”

The additional information sheds more light on investigators’ path to identifying Mangione.
Fox News previously confirmed that a San Francisco police investigator recognized Mangione from a wanted bulletin poster made by police and communicated that to the FBI while the suspect was still at large.
UNITEDHEALTH RESPONDS TO ARREST OF SUSPECT IN CEO KILLING
The poster, obtained by Fox News, shows a picture of a smiling Mangione and states that the missing person report for him was filed on Nov. 18, about two weeks before he allegedly shot and killed Thompson execution-style outside the New York Hilton Midtown hotel. The poster goes out to agencies for a missing person.
The police source tells Fox News that Mangione’s mother phoned in to file the missing person report stating she last spoke with her son around July 1 and that he worked at TrueCar, an online retailing service for car buyers and auto dealerships.
The San Francisco location given for a work address was 124 Montgomery, which is permanently closed and there is no phone number.
Mangione’s mother said she didn’t know any other place her son would frequent in San Francisco, per the source.
Authorities arrested Mangione in a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on Monday, at which point he allegedly presented local police with a fake ID and appeared to start shaking when they asked if he had been in New York recently.
In New York, Mangione faces one count of murder, two counts of second-degree criminal weapons possession, one count of second-degree possession of a forged document and one count of third-degree criminal weapons possession.
In Pennsylvania, he faces one count of forgery, one count of carrying a firearm without a license, one count of tampering with records or identification, one count of possession of instruments of a crime and one count of presenting false ID to law enforcement, according to court documents.

Michael Carcone tied it midway through the third and then Utah won it during 4-on-3 play shortly after Cody Ceci was called for high-sticking.
Utah won the faceoff and Keller got the puck in the slot and beat Vitek Vanecek for his 10th goal of the season.
Dylan Guenther and Nick Schmaltz also scored for Utah. Karel Vejmelka made 19 saves.
Fabian Zetterlund gave San Jose a 3-2 lead early in the third period on the power play but the Sharks couldn’t close it out. Alexander Wennberg and Mikael Granlund also scored for San Jose. Vanecek made 36 saves.

Five takeaways from Washington's win over New Orleans
The Washington Commanders secured their ninth win of the season by holding on to beat the New Orleans Saints, 20-19. Here are five takeaways from the victory.
Terry McLaurin continues to roll in what has been a tremendous season for the veteran wide receiver.
McLaurin had another solid day for the Commanders against the Saints, catching seven passes on 10 targets for 73 yards and two touchdowns, both of which came in the first half. The first came between two Saints defenders on Washington’s opening drive, capping off an acrobatic play from Jayden Daniels, while the second put the Commanders up 14-0 on a three-yard grab.
Arguably his most impressive play, however, was a 25-yard grab in the third quarter that converted a second-and-11. McLaurin plucked the ball out of the air on the left side of the field, putting the Commander at the Saints’ 44-yard line.
The Commanders’ effort to get McLaurin the ball more often has paid off for them, as they are now 7-3 when he gets at least 50 yards. It’s also helped him have what’s shaping up to be the best season of his career. He is the first Washington wide receiver to have 10 or more touchdown receptions since Gary Clark did so in 1991, and his four multi-touchdown games are the second-most in the NFL this season trailing only Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase.
McLaurin is on pace to hit a career-high 1,172 yards with three games left.

Cowgirls dominate South Dakota in wire-to-wire victory
VERMILLION, S.D. — The Wyoming Cowgirls took care of business against South Dakota with a great performance on both ends of the court Sunday, cruising to a 79-45 win.
The Cowgirls started the game by hitting each of their first two 3-point attempts to take an early lead. After an Emily Mellema three-point play, UW held an early 9-3 advantage.
Wyoming soon got up by double digits to lead 14-3, though the hot start was far from done Following a timeout, the lead got up to as many as 14 before South Dakota somewhat found its footing. The Cowgirls led 18-7 at the end of the opening quarter.
Mellema opened the second with back-to-back 3-pointers and the Wyoming lead surged to 24-9 with eight minutes left in the half, forcing a Coyote timeout. UW went up by 18 before USD started to find its range and cut the score down to 31-18.
However, the Cowgirls responded after that, continuing the hot shooting from the outside with back-to-back 3-pointers, going back up 37-18 with under two to play in the half. The lead ballooned from there, to 41-18 at the half.
The third quarter began with more hot outside shooting and strong defense from the Cowgirls as they built up a 55-20 advantage to open the half.
USD trimmed the lead down to 55-26 before Wyoming had yet another answer in the game. The Cowgirls closed the third on a 12-0 run and led 67-26 after three.
In the fourth, UW emptied the bench and played mostly just subs in the quarter. USD would outscore the Cowgirls in the frame to make the final score a bit more respectable.
Wyoming hit a season-best 14 3-pointers in the victory and shot nearly 54% from beyond the arc. South Dakota shot just 25.4% for the game.
Allyson Fertig led all scorers with 17 points in the win and was just one rebound shy of a second straight double-double. Tess Barnes, Mellema and Ola Ustowska all added 12 each and combined to shoot 11-for-15 from 3-point range.
