Pregnant Kourtney Kardashian shows off growing baby bump in leopard bikini on Hawaii vacation

The claws are out!

Pregnant Kourtney Kardashian was seen rocking a leopard-print bikini in Kauai, Hawaii, on Tuesday while enjoying a beach day with her daughter, Penelope, who just turned 11.

The soon-to-be mother of four — who announced last month that she and husband Travis Barker are expecting their first child together, a baby boy — spent the day soaking up the sun and playing with “P” in the water.

For the relaxing girls’ day, the “Kardashians” star, 44 — who also shares sons Mason, 13, and Reign, 8, with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick — went wild in the Neptune Top ($75) and matching Oceanside Short ($75) from Emily Ratajkowski’s swimsuit line, Inamorata.

She also sported a black baseball cap and matching Miu Miu Runway sunglasses ($610).

It could just be coincidence, but perhaps the Hulu personality’s decision to not wear a Skims bathing suit from sister Kim Kardashian’s line was intentional.

Though Kourtney and her younger sister — who are only 18 months apart — have been competitive in the past, their relationship seems to be extra strained as of late.

On the currently airing season of the family’s Hulu reality show, which was shot last year, Kourtney accused Kim of stealing her wedding designer, Dolce & Gabbana, the ’90s aesthetic of her May 2022 nuptials and her thunder when the latter agreed to team up with the fashion house on a ’90s-inspired collection just four months later.

Kim, 42, added fuel to the fire this past weekend when she attended the Italian fashion brand’s multi-day Alta Moda show in Puglia, Italy, decked out in a black veiled ensemble that was eerily reminiscent of the one Kourtney wore during her D&G-hosted wedding weekend.

“Kourtney somewhere crying right now,” one of many social media users hypothesized.

Fans are also convinced that Kim’s new partnership with wellness brand Alani Nu is a dig at her health-conscious sister, who not only runs a lifestyle blog called Poosh but also launched Lemme, a line of vitamins and supplements, in November 2022.

But the rivalrous siblings’ feud seems to go beyond just business.

On a recent episode of “The Kardashians,” Kanye West’s ex-wife shut down a DMV and brought her entire glam squad with her to ensure she got the perfect photo for her driver’s license, which she needed to renew.

The Skkn by Kim founder was seen unapologetically getting her hair and makeup touched up before requesting multiple takes in front of the camera.

Hours after the episode dropped, Kourtney took to Instagram to seemingly troll her sister by posting her driver’s license picture, presumably snapped sans-glam squad.

“Say my name,” she cheekily captioned the post, making sure she included the “Department of Motor Vehicles” geotag.

Hawaii Adopts “Shaka” As Official State Gesture 🤙

Interesting development out of Hawaii where the shaka has been elected the state’s official hand gesture (I wonder what New York’s would be…double freedom rockets?)

The shaka sign also known as “hang loose” is accomplished by extending the thumb and little finger, while curling down the three middle fingers and wiggling the hand at the wrist. It’s long been commonplace to see shaka’s thrown around Hawaii and the extended surfing world and last week Hawaiian lawmakers made it official by passing a bill deeming it the state’s official gesture. Here’s an excerpt from the bill:

“The legislature finds that the shaka gesture should be recognized as the official gesture of the State.  While multiple origin theories exist, all theories have the shaka developing within the State.  More importantly, while multiple Hawaii ethnic cultures and resident groups have contributed varying layers of meaning to the shaka, there is a shared agreement in the shaka’s positive sentiments and usage toward sharing aloha, fostering connection, and being pono.”

As a proud shaka thrower for many many years, I appreciate the Hawaiian lawmakers recognizing the practice as “a key brand symbol for the State, offering influential power to build the State’s economy, global brand, and resident pride.” Hell yeah!

Here’s a trailer to a movie about the shaka’s origin MORE INFO HERE:

Knocks as Korra Obidi travels to Hawaii for vacation after fans donated $50,000 for legal fee

Nigerians across social media have begun to slam popular Nigerian-American singer and dancer, Korra Obidi, as she flew immediately to Hawaii in the United States after completing her GoFundMe $50,000 target.

Obidi created GoFundMe on Friday to seek a good lawyer, adding that she wants to overturn the right of her ex-husband, Justin Dean, over their kids.

Korra Obidi

According to her, she would need money to get a good lawyer, which is why she created the GoFundMe account to meet the target of $100,000.

The account generated over $50,000 raised from over 950 donors worldwide.

“As a mother, it’s time to fight for myself and my kids,” Obidi said. She also shared her GoFundMe account details, seeking the assistance of fans and friends.

However, on Sunday, the dancer, after raising the money, said during a live session on Facebook that she had plans for a vacation in Hawaii.

Her decision has been greeted by outrage from her fans, with many alleging that the main intent of the GoFundMe was never to file a suit against the husband but to lavish on her extravagant lifestyle.

Wanda Johnson, a Facebook user, said, “She got y’all’s money, now she’s at the airport. Some of you are so weak to believe her foolishness. She is always begging, scamming, and manipulating.”

“You are gradually becoming a professional beggar on social media,” one Chigoziri Ohochukwu on Facebook opined.

“Mad that she can’t post pictures because without posting pictures she can’t make money. She needs to post pictures of her kids to make money. But she would rather go to Hawaii than see.Her children sickening and people gave her $.Or whatever was on that go find me.People needs to report the go fund me everybody needs to report to get their money back,” a user who identifies as Jennifer Lynn Russell claimed.

Nene Peters stated, “WTF you was just on here crying about you need a lawyer now, you traveling. I’m done with you wow.”

“Two days ago she was crying for donation now she is traveling,” said Hermi Matilya

Meanwhile, Bridget O’Connell said, “Yeah I’m not gonna lie Traveling to Hawaii is crazy after receiving all that money for Lawyer girl! You shoulda did that in silence.”

Also, Mary Monique Napont said, “It’s none of your business lady. She is an influencer, performer, student, and most importantly a great mother. Leave her be. You are a part of the problem. She’s not hurting you in any way. If you don’t like her, don’t follow her. It’s that simple.”

Recall that the divorce and custody battle between Obidi and Dean has been on the public scene lately. Recent developments have granted Justin the right to restrict their two children from featuring on Obidi’s online content.

She posted a plea online, accusing Dean of abuse and “gaslighting” during their marriage, claiming he is now subjecting their daughters to similar treatment.

Hope Bancorp Buys Hawaii’s Territorial Bancorp

Hope Bancorp Buys Hawaii’s Territorial Bancorp

Hope Bancorp, a Koreatown-based bank focused on the Korean American community, will acquire the Hawaii-based Territorial Bancorp in an all-stock deal valued at $78.6 million.

Hope Bancorp, which operates through the $18 billion Bank of Hope, will expand its footprint into Hawaii after the deal’s expected close by the end of the year.

Hope Bank’s Chief Executive Kevin Kim said he’s known Territorial’s Chief Executive Allan Kitsagawa for some time, and a potential transaction between their two businesses had come up in casual conversations.

But after high interest rates persisted and banks felt the aftershocks of the regional crisis that came to a boil last March, casual remarks became serious business discussions with investment bankers last December.

“It was a very difficult situation for anyone in the banking space,” Kim said. “The reason for us to consider a possible combination has become more and more compelling as this high-rate environment continues.”

More than one third of Bank of Hope’s loan sheet is tied up in a commercial real estate portfolio in Southern California. Territorial, on the other hand, is predominately defined as a residential mortgage lender with a stable deposit base.

According to Kim, a large portion of the Hawaii-based bank’s mortgages were originated when borrowing costs were low, meaning the bank now struggles to maintain assets with lower interest income.

Bank of Hope saw Territorial’s consumer base as an opportunity to diversify its loan portfolio and reduce risk, while alleviating the Hawaiian bank’s asset squeeze.

“We have our challenges, they have their challenges in this environment, but they are very complementary,” Kim said. “If we add their mortgage book to our loan portfolio, our loan diversification is accelerated.”

Kim added the bank will reach a large Asian American and Pacific Islander community in Hawaii – adding to its competitive niche of expanding via ethnic communities.

Over the past 15 years, Kim combined three major Korean-focused banks to create Hope Bancorp.

This latest acquisition, however, caught markets by surprise and led to an initial knee-jerk stock dip following the announcement.

In its fourth-quarter earnings, Bank of Hope had announced a cost-restructuring plan to generate $40 million and maintain a prudent, savings-first mentality.

Between now and last April, the bank shed almost $2 billion in assets and slashed hundreds of employees to reduce its non-interest expenses.

The transaction with Territorial is expected to cost between $25 and $30 million, but Kim says the 7% reduction in non-interest expenses seen in this year’s first quarter proves the bank is still making positive headway on savings.

Since Bank of Hope does not currently operate in Hawaii, Kim says the bank can retain almost all employees at Territorial after the acquisition, and all branding will remain intact for the regional bank.

This acquisition is the first deal announced in the local banking industry since Banc of California and PacWest merged last year. With Territorial’s assets, Bank of Hope will likely remain the No. 5 fifth largest bank in Los Angeles, according to the Business Journal’s rankings.
